Belle woke up and walked into the village like every other day. Every day was the same. Belle hated doing the same thing over and over. She couldn't wait for her father to invent something new so they could start another life.

She sighed and made her way past the busy townspeople. She walked into the book store like usual and the owner greeted her with the same smile as always. "Why good morning Belle!"

"Good morning! Have you got anything new?" she asked, browsing the shelves.

The owner laughed. Belle sure did love to read which was unusual for girls. She was different that girl was. "Not since yesterday," he laughed.

Belle smiled. "That's alright. I'll borrow....this one!" She reached up and plucked a book off the shelf.

"That one? But you've read it twice!" he exclaimed, a smile radiating off his face.

"It's my favorite!" And it was. Belle loved the adventures and the prince in disguise and the magic spells. For once she could escape reality and pretend to be some where else.

"If you like it that much then it's yours," the owner said, pushing the book towards her.

"Are you sure?" Belle asked.

The owner nodded and sent her off. She gave her thanks and skipped out of the book store. When she emerged onto the street, a smile was spread across her face until she saw the dark figure. A tall, strong figure was lurking in the shadows, a hood cloaking his face. Belle instantly frowned in confusion. Her curiousity got the best of her and she watched what she assumed was a him. He was walking towards her, his strides long and powerful. She hid around the other side of the book shop, pressing herself up against the siding.

"Belle!" a little boy exclaimed, suddenly appearing at her side. Startled by the little boy, Belle jumped back and accidenlty knocked over a basket of apples from the stand next door. Belle gasped and watched as the basket rolled into the street, apples rolling everywhere.

She saw a boot come in contact and she froze. It was the hooded figure she was watching earlier. They tripped over some apples but Belle couldn't help but be amazed at the speed which their hands shot out and caught themselves. However, they landed on some apples which rolled under their weight, tossing him aside and effectively making his hood slide off his head. Belle's breath hitched.

The man's eyes were wide with terror. He had the most amazing and striking blue eyes that Belle had ever seen. He had long auburn hair that fell around his perfectly structured face. He was easily the most handsome man she had ever seen with a strong build and angelic look.

He quickly stood and pulled his hood back over his head, but by that point people had already stopped to assess the scene. Some girls were so shocked by his looks that they had dropped the baskets and what not that they were carrying. The whole town was quickly mesmerized by him.

Belle was so close to him that she could see the straight line his lips made under his hood and she could tell he was angry. She was glad she was hidden. He would be mad if he found out it was all her fault.

He quickly dashed to the edge of the village, a couple of girls following him. They were shouting and trying to get his attention but he was faster. Belle did not understand why he would hide when he was so handsome. He easily passed Gaston and could have any girl in the village. She didn't understand why he was trying so hard to hide in the shadows.

"Oops, I didn't mean to scare you Belle. Were you hiding from that man?" the little boy asked, looking up at her with innocent brown eyes.

Belle smiled down at him and urged him to run back to his friends. He laughed and did as she told him. She shook her head at the earlier event and decided to head back to see her father.

"Belle! Wait!"

She recognized the voice and hung her head low. The person she knew was following her struggled to make his way through the crowd to her. It wasn't until she was at the edge of town when he had finally managed to reach her.

"Belle," he said, grabbing her arm and turning her around to face him.

Gaston. He was tall and strong, but it was almost too much. She liked a man with muscles, but Gaston had too much to be considered good looking to her. Every other girl in town however fell at his feet when he passed by. Other than his overbearing muscles, Belle had to admit that he was handsome. He had black hair that he usually kept pulled back and deep blue eyes that could persuade almost anyone to do what he liked. Except Belle.

"Oh, Gaston," she forced a small laugh. "I didn't expect to run into you here." Belle stepped away from him. The last thing she wanted was to run into Gaston.

Gaston crossed his arms and flashed Belle a smug smile. "Well it's a good thing you did then because today is your lucky day." He stepped closer to her, reaching out to grab her, but she stepped around his grasp.

"Why do you say that?" she forced yet another laugh, this time to keep herself calm. She didn't like Gaston being so close. It scared her.

Gaston frowned at her motion but stepped to stand beside her yet again. "I have a surprise for you," he smiled, this time grabbing her arm triumphantly.

Belle held back a face of utter disgust and forced a smile anyway, trying to nonchallantly pull her arm free. "Oh."

"Why don't you and I go back to my lodge, then I will show you," he suggested, wrapping an arm over her shoulder and started to pull her back towards town.

Belle ducked under his arm and stepped back away from him. "Maybe later. I had better be going, sorry. Goodbye!" She quickly turned and ran off out of the village and to her house where her father would be waiting for her.

She found him under his contraption that he was building for the fair. He greeted her with a goofy grin and she smiled. She didn't understand why everyone thought he was crazy. If anything, he was smarter than them for coming up with inventions! Belle sighed defeated and sat down on a chair, pulling her book close to her chest.

"How was your trip to town?" he asked, laying under his newest invention, trying to prepare it for the fair the next day.

Belle sighed again. "Father, do you think I'm weird?"

Maurice slid out from under his invention and looked up at Belle with his silly inventor's glasses on. "Now where would you get an idea like that?" he asked. This made Belle laugh.

He slid back under and Belle sat there, just enjoying her father's company. Her mind kept wondering back to the man she saw earlier in the streets. She wanted to find him and she would as soon as her father left for the fair.
