SkyHere we were, standing in front of each other, smiling, and exchanging curious glances.
I previously met them to be Albie and... Elvie.
I tried to fight my slight blush away. I ended up just smiling from ear to ear instead. Elvie... Elvie... Elvie.
Her face reminds me of an angel, though I've never seen one before, I can only imagine that she was an angel that came down from Heaven to Earthel... to Earthel?
Albie tapped my shoulder, "Hey," he now patted my back. "I know this is all too much to take in. Basically, we are on another planet now, probably light years away from Earthal..." his voice trailed off.
His sudden statement pulled me out of my reverie. It took me a minute to realize as to what he is trying to say.
I looked to the reddish floor beneath me. "No... no way," I paused and breathed. "How? How in the world of science is this even possible..? We are stranded on another planet!?" I looked at Albie who was now just staring blankly at me.
His demeanor suddenly changed from serious to... sympathy? He is sympathetic to my problems? Is he not experiencing the same burden? Worse, isn't he facing a heavier complication?
Rude as it may be, he wasn't the type of guy I expected to be the kind type. I honestly thought he were more of the "gangster" type. The only reason why I was reluctant in shaking hands with him earlier was simply because I jumped into conclusions. How wrong may I be?
I shook my head to stop my thoughts for now, I need to act serious about the situation here!
"By the way, do you by any chance, know where and what planet we are on?" I asked him out of curiosity.
He shrugged one shoulder, "Nope. Absolutely no idea, man."
Elvie suddenly interrupted our conversation, "Guys, if I were you. I would evacuate away from this opening as soon as possible. You never know what could happen, we are on an alien planet after all."
Albie and I nodded our heads in synchronization.Elvie led the way while we followed her. She was looking all around her as she was walking, occassionally looking back at us, probably to check if we were still following her.
She suddenly stopped walking, "Guys, I feel like we are being..."
I cut in when she was taking too long to continue her statement, "Being what?"
She fixated her gaze ahead of us and started traipsing again, "Being... watched." She continued.
Me and Albie froze. We exchanged worried glances, not because we were scared with the fact that someone is indeed watching our every move but because we were scared that maybe all the pressure is getting to Elvie making her blurt out spur-of-the-moment conclusions.
"Oh don't even think I am going crazy," she rolled her eyes. Is she a mind reader!? Now, I am getting scared.
She just smiled, "I am not a mind reader, you two are just way too obvious," she put on her serious face. "Seriously though, I wouldn't jump to conclusions if I know that it isn't pragmatic or reasonable in the slightest."
We were awestruck. Besides the fact that Elvie was very practical about the situation, she was also very observant, not just inside our minds but also on the environment surrounding us.
I saw Albie in my peripheral vision with an utterly perplexed expression plastered on his face, I was about to interrogate him on what is troubling him but he beat me, "Elvie," Elvie paused then looked back slightly. "What is pragmatic?"
