the legend of remnant

prologue

Jess pov.

"It started long ago when the four kingdoms of Remnant were created. A child was born in each one that had the control over one element. Water, found mostly in the Haven academy, Earth, these benders are usually mistrel, Fire, the Atlas kingdom, and Air, the beacon academy. Theses children along with the huntsmens of Remnant became guardians. Then the grimm started to hunt down those benders. In this time of need a child born out side of the four kingdoms was able to weird all 4 elements. This child has become known as the avatar. Over time the spirit was being reincarnated serving peace and justice all over remnant but that all changed the day the Atlas kingdom was taken by the rogue benders and grimm. They used their fire bending to create war machines. The other 3 kingdoms looked towards the Avatar but he disappeared. Over the next century the airbenders were killed to the point of extinction. The other nations fearful that the cycle had been stopped so in an attempt to keep order they went to try and take Atlas back. This was a mistake. My name is Jess and I know that when the avatar emerges they can save the world."

No one pov.

Jess and her friend Mark were out in a river at the entrance of an ocean fishing for food. Jess was using her bending to catch fish as her brother was being an arrogant idiot as always. Jess let her long brown hair flow as the sun shone upon her tanning skin. Mark was different for he was from Jess since he had white skin and black short hair. He held a spear aiming at the water waiting to strike. Mark and Jess saw each other as brother and sister ready to fight for one another. "Hey Mark look at this!" She smiled happily as mark groaned.

"Not now Jess I'm busy." He said annoyed as he thrusted his spear into the water missing as Jess had a bubble of water with a fish inside it. It swam around inside confused trying to get to a bigger mass of water but was unable. As mark pulled back his spear it made contact popping the bubble the fish was in. Mark growled and stared back at Jess. "Really?"

"Sorry Mark." Jess said looking down.

"Why did you have to be born with magic?" Mark sighed before looking at the water again.

"Well I'm sorry." Jess said a bit irritated as the waters current started to pick up pace.

"Why did you even come with me? You should be home cooking." Mark said without realizing.

"REALLY?! HOW DARE YOU ACT SO SEXIST!" Jess retaliated at Mark who noticed the boat they were in started to head down river towards rocks and a roaring waterfall.

"Jess please ca-" Mark tried asking.

"NO MARK! I'M SICK AND TIRED OF BEING TREATED THIS WAY!" Jess started to say when the boat knocked against some rocks causing the 2 inside shake. "I COOK, I CLEAN, I SEW YOUR CLOTHES BACK TOGETHER, AND SO MUCH MORE! BUT NO BECAUSE YOU'RE THE GUY YOU ARE SO MUCH MORE IMPORTANT! I DEMAND THAT YOU TREAT ME WITH MORE RESPECT!" Jess ranted as mark kept looking past her at the rising wave behind her.

"Uh jess......" he said weakly.

"WHAT?!" Jess yelled. Mark pointed past her and she looked back to see a 10 foot wave come crashing down throwing them forward over the waterfall. "AHHHHHHHHH!" They yelled holding each other close as the 2 plunged into the pool at the bottom. Jess broke the surface first gulping in air before she heard Mark do the same. "Was that....." She started saying as they got on the shore.

"YES IT WAS!" Mark said unintentionally rude. Jess was about to respond before the pool started to let loose hundred of bubbles and a bright blue glow within it. "JESS GET BEHIND ME!" Mark yelled as he pulled out a boomerang. She did that as the glow got brighter and the bubbles bigger. Then in an explosion of water and air a giant ice sphere appeared in the pool. "What the heck?" Jess looked at the sphere to see a person inside meditating with a giant creature behind the person in a curled up position. They were the source of the glowing.

"Mark theirs someone inside!" Jess said as the person inside opened there eyes to show more glowing. Jess pulled Mark behind a rock as chunks of Ice flew past them. Jess looked out then to see the person was just a boy in normal clothing. He had white skin and brownish black short hair. For some reason right on his forehead under his hairline there was a blue tattoo. The creature inside looked like a giant buffalo with 6 legs and arrows all over its body. Jess ran out to the boy as Mark tried grabbing her.

"Jess what are you doing?!" Mark asked concerned as Jess knelt down next to the boy flipping him over. The boy fluttered his eyes showing them to be a silvery blue.

"Hey are you okay?" Jess asked the boy as he motioned her close.

"Will you..." he said weakly at first.

"Yes?" Jess asked leaning in closer.

"Go Griffin riding with me?" The boy asked completely fine. Taken back a bit jess tilted her head.

"Uh yeah sure." Jess said as the boy smiled happily.

"Oh wow." The boy said jumping up before wiggling his nose. "ACHOOOOO!" He sneezed shooting him 15 feet in the air before landing softly. "Bless me. Sorry bout that." Jess and Mark stared in disbelief.

"How? You were 15 feet in the air!" Mark pointed at the boy.

"Who are you?" Jess asked basically interrupting Mark.

"Oh I'm Nathen. Air nomad of the northern Air temple in the Beacon kingdom." He said smiling at Jess as a growl came from the creature that was in the ice.

"What's that?" Mark asked pointing his boomerang at the buffalo.

"Oh that's just Candy. She's my flying bison." Nathen said going over to Candy and pet her. "Uh oh." He said before pulling jess out of the way as Candy opened her mouth in Marks direction and sneezed covering him in green snot.

"OH GOD EW!" Mark complained loudly as he tried wiping it off.

"Oh sorry bout that." Nathen muttered a bit scratching his neck. "So where do you guys live?"

(a/n YES I KNOW IT TOOK FOREVER BUT THIS IS ONE OF THE FEW THINGS THAT WILL BE SIMILAR FROM THE SHOW AALA BUT IT'S FINALLY DONE AND I'M WORKING ON THE NEXT CHAPTER TOO SO PLEASE ENJOY!)
