~Mat~
I chuckle slightly as I over hear Mark questioning Sean. He surely had tons of questions with everything. I mean what do you do when your life is peaceful and suddenly it turns upside down? I sigh as I remember my first week in Tanevale. It was such a long time ago.
Matthew walked hesitantly into the larger building. It was headquarters. All new recruits needed to be taken here first. He was only 16 barely old enough to date. He had always known that he was special. But was only now beginning to understand how. A man walked towards him. Only a few years older. He had a warm smile and greeted Matthew with such enthusiasm, he couldn't help but return it. The man standing next to him, Felix who was merely another student spoke slightly. Revealing that the man in front of him was the headmaster. The ruler of Tanevale. Well their little section of it. After the headmaster looked at him, he quickly smiled. "Nice to finally meet you Matthew. My name is Damien". He had dark hair and crimson eyes. Normally unsettling, yet they seemed so friendly. The way when he smiled his eyes crinkled at the edges. He seemed nice enough. Shortly after he was quickly taken into a classroom. It was a bit separated from the multitude of other rooms. As they walked in, several other students turned their attention to him. It made Matthew nervous, he hated the spotlight.
"MATTHEW!" Felix yelled at him as if he had said it repeatedly.
Having been snapped out of remembering the past I turned towards him, "my apologies Felix, what do you need?"
The poor man looked relieved as my attention had came back to reality, "We are landing in a few minutes. I assume you will lead Fischbach into the grounds?"
"Mark," I corrected the Swede, "and yes as is traditional."
I smile as the plane touches down a few students looked over at us. Many payed no attention as we stepped off. I fell in step with Mark as we walked down the familiar gravel road. Shoes crunched in the gravel. However my feet remained silent. As much as I loved the sound, I hated the feeling of rocks against my shoes.
"So welcome to your new home Mark!" I chatted enthusiastically as we approached the headquarters building. "Well you'll have a meeting with me of course, and Damien. Then you'll be taken into a classroom."
"So you don't have just one class?" He looked at me quizzical.
This just made our group laugh, "no. We have designated classes based around your power." Jack chirped.
"Really? So.... actually that makes a lot of sense." Mark trailed off answering his own question.
Glancing over at Jack he had a slightly focused look on his face. Probably blocking out the hundreds of thoughts that surrounded him. Felix was as blank faced as usual. I grinned as we walked in greeted by the warm smile of Damien.
(Sorry I know this is a shorter chapter. But I promise that I'll be making up for it in 1) another book releasing and 2) next chapter)
