EXTENDED SUMMARY : CAT ORTIZ always thought she had something special with the red haired beauty that was Rachel Elizabeth Dare. They spent most of their time together, watching cheesy movies while huddled in the couch just to make fun of them, or just quietly enjoying each other's presence. Cat Ortiz realised she was just fooling herself when, after winter break, Rachel came bouncing in, talking her head off about some green-eyed boy. Cat wishes the reason Rachel's eyes lit up was her, and not some 'Percy- Gotta Go!' jackass.
Things got worse when it turned out the mystery boy was going to the same school next year. Suddenly, Cat was being replaced and all she could do was glare at the mop of black hair from the back.

- The fic should start somewhere before Titan's Curse
-But it should mostly focus on after Titan's Curse. More specifically, the time when Percy was at Goode High.
-Cat is v v bitter
-She's also a MORTAL. This cannot change.
-She's a very openly gay bb too
-And she goes with Rachel to protests all the time?
-She highkey hates Percy but low-key doesn't
- She's pretty jealous of him?
- But she also knows that Percy doesn't reciprocate Rachel's feelings
-Because COMEON it's pretty obvious he likes that one boy from English Lit (Martin)
- Um, Martin and Percy should be much more of a background couple
- Percy and Cat become a brotp at some point because Rachel is like insistent that they get along and they end up just having sleepovers and both talking about their respective crushes and just laughing at how hopeless they are.
- Despite feeling super unwanted, Cat still hangs out with Rachel
- But during TLO when Rachel invites Percy to the vacation and doesn't even mention it to her, it's just some sort of breaking point
- And she like, screams at Rachel and they stop talking to each other because Rachel thinks Cat overreacted and Cat just really doesn't want to be just a second thought
