emma's pov
while the man of my dreams from 9th grade was holding my hand, I needed to go back to reality. I was in a car crash and i'm somehow watching everything from the outside. it's like the movie if I stay and it's literally coming true. will I remember this when I wake up? will I wake up? as I was walking down the hospital hallways I was looking for names and I found on a door "andrew zen" and I walked in. Andrew had bruises on his forehead and a cast on his leg. I was so sad to see him like this. I wanted to cry. he looked peacefully asleep so i slowly walked up to him and held his hand. I held it tight even though he couldn't feel it and I whispered "I love you" and kissed his forehead. I walked to the cafeteria and sat near my friends soleil and lindsey. i hated that they couldn't see me. "it's kinda weird. I feel like she's with us but not? like her presence is around here?" soleil said sipping her drink. "you're delusional!" lindsey said shaking her head. "i'm for real" soleil said. "listen. i know we are all going through a lot but that's not possible. she's not here" lindsey said with her voice breaking. a tear slid down my cheek. "what is he doing here?!" soleil whispered and pointed at the door. lindsey got up and walked towards marcus. "what are you doing here?" she said with her arms crossed.

marcus pov
"woah didn't mean to start anything" I said. "you know what?" lindsey said glaring at me. "what?" I asked. "emma liked you last year. she dropped so many hints and you didn't realize. you always wanted a caring and amazing girlfriend and she was there for you. she was perfect for you. little did she
know her life may be ending soon. just wanted to speak on her behalf" she said and walked away. I thought about it and lindsey was right! i was so blind to it and i'm sure she doesn't like me now but i felt guilty. when I was going through all that I was so focused on my heart break I didn't even pay attention to emma and now she's sitting in a hospital bed and I can't do anything about it.
