Ares POV

I was rudely shoved awake by two senior warriors that were ordered to make sure I wouldn't murder everyone in this messed up place.

"It's time we go meet our new friend," the gray tabby spat at me. With one flare his way it was enough for him to shut up and walk away. Walking out of my den I gazed at the remaining toms, our size has been cut in half; five of us now sitting in the clearing. A small smile grew on my face as I sat next to my familiar black pelted yellow eyed friend Nox. Each of them had only a singular scar on their right shoulder that crosses to look like an x. My ears snapped up to look over at Zeus and Hades dragging in two she cats. A short black and gray tabby she, as well as a familiar face that made my eyes grow wide; a light black and light brown tabby she, her similar amber eyes gazed into mine, it was very clear that this my only blood sibling left; my sister Artemis.

"These are the she's that will join us in the field, Artemis the scout and Shade who will be our killer in the shadows," Hades assertively spoke to us. My so called father went ahead and signaled for me to sit beside him, so I obeyed. My cold eyes seemed to start to look a lot like his, the only difference is that I still had a soul. His died before I was born.

"Only one she is aloud to stay with us." Hades eyes snapped to Zeus in surprise of his words.

"But," Hades was cut off my Zeus's deep growl.

Zeus would gaze at the she's; with a simple snapping motion of his ears signaling the she's to begin fighting. It was very clear in my eyes that one of them wasn't walking away from this. Watching this fight Artemis lunged at the smaller she only to have Shade dodge the attack. As Artemis flew past her Shade ran her claws down The black she's side. Instinct takes over and I begin to stand up to stop this nonsense. Zeus places his front paw on my tail and gives me a glare, that alone speaking of his intentions I sat back down, turning my gaze to the horror unfolding in front of me. Artemis had ripped a chunk out of Shades shoulder.

"If we let them kill each other doesn't that mean we have less of an army?" A shiver ran down my spin, not realizing how icy my voice has become.

"They are worthless she cats, they are lucky to have been chosen at all." I sighed, watching how Shade was hanging onto my sisters neck, look rushing out of her jaws. A glint of satisfaction in the smaller she's eyes that made me huff in disgust. No one should enjoy taking their friends life.

"From what the senior warriors mention about Artemis, it seems she is too good of a hunter to let perish." I was hopeful, wanting nothing more than my sister to not die today; I lost one sibling already I won't lose another.

"Enough," His voice boomed around the clearing. I sighed with relief, glad my sister will live another day at least.

"Artemis will become a full-fledged hunter, while Shade here will become an assassin." The two she's both bow their heads down to Zeus.

"Ares, you and Shade will become comrades; your strength and her stealth will make a perfect team." Zeus seemed satisfied as he spoke. Almost if he was proud of this outcome. I just nod, realizing that I will become full fledged at four moons while the rest got to wait more. I'm gonna die a lot sooner than I thought.
