chapter 2: the first competition

Maddie pov:

I woke up next to my sister in our huge bed in Abby's house and I walked over to our closet full of new beautiful clothes and I picked out a pink sparkly tank top and some rainbow leggings to wear. Then I picked out a purple sparkly tank top and rainbow leggings for my sister Kenzie to wear so we would be matching.

She woke up and I tossed her outfit to her. We both got changed then I did our makeup. We then went downstairs and ate breakfast while watching tv. Then we did our schoolwork and got our dance bags and our phones and got in my car and drove to dance with Abby driving behind us.

We arrived and we ran the dances one more time before getting on the bus and going to competition. We got on the bus and I sat down next to my sister. Abby showed us both photos of what our makeup for our solos were to look like. I did Mackenzie's makeup then I did mine. Then when we got there we got changed into our solo costumes.

One of Cathy's dancers went first. Her dance looked like this:

It was amazing but not as amazing as our solos. Then after all the solos the duets performed. Kenzie and I performed first and then the other two duets performed. And after that one of Cathy's duets performed. Which look like this

The girl was beautiful but I saw a few mistakes here and there so I knew they would place lower than us. After that we performed the trios and then the candy apples performed the one trio they prepared. It look like this:

There were a lot of mistakes in this one and when Abby saw them performing she made a face to which Kenzie and I laughed at. After that there was a little break before we had to perform the group dance. After the break was over we performed the group dance. Then the candy apples performed their group dance which looked like this:

They also sang in their performance but their singing was slightly off the beat of the song. After the rest of the group dances performed all the dancers went on stage and sat down for awards. The solo awards were first. Jojo got fourth, Lilly got third, somehow I got second and Kenzie got first place but I was really excited for Kenzie and I didn't care that I got second"

Time skip to after awards

We were all in the dressing room after awards and Abby hugged us both. She said "I am so happy that you guys all placed in each category" that was surprising because she usually gets pissed off when one of us places lower than first or second.

After we finished changing out of our costumes and packing everything up we got back on the bus to go back to the studio. We got back to the studio about a half hour later and we put our stuff in the car and drove home.
