Corporal's Kitten (Levi X Neko!reader)

Steps to freedom.

The first thing that had to be done was choose who was doing what. Who would go with me. What I would need. And how we could hide the one person in my fur.

"Obviously I'm going with her." Levi states angrily as Eren argues that it should be him. My leopard form was big but not big enough for two people.

"Okay! I will choose!" I shout, my voice raised above both of theirs. "Levi.. I don't want you getting hurt, but you are stronger than Eren.. I trust you.. but Eren needs to come.. I need him to find his home.. I'm sorry" I bring my hand up to his face, I hated having to take Eren over him, but Levi doesn't know where the basement is.

"I understand.." he hugs me, and gently kisses me. He knows this could be the end for me and Jaeger. But he would never say it.

"I've never seen heichou so.. soft before.." Eren whispers.

"When you love someone you would understand." Levi replies simply, "I have a meeting with Erwin, I will be back" he kisses me on the forehead one last time and calmly walks to Erwin's office.

"Okay, here's the plan of action Armin has worked out for us.." I start saying reading off what Armin has wrote. We were up for hours just figuring it all out, we got all of the supplies together. Tomorrow the plan is up into action.

*time skip to the next morning*

I woke up to Levi holding me, once he noticed I was awake he started speaking.. he was crying.

"Don't die okay.." he whispers, his voice hoarse.

"Levi.. I'll be okay..." I try and smile, but I couldn't.. not when he was like this.

He grabs me by the shoulders so I have to look him straight in the face. "Promise me! Promise me you won't die! You are going to come back, that's a direct order! I can't lose you too!" He shouts, letting more tears flow down his face. I sit there shocked.. before I knew it I was crying as well.

"I can't promise you anything.." I whisper sadly, "we don't know what will happen.."

"Do you remember what I told Eren.. on the expedition..." he asks me desperately looking for something to say so I would remain close to him longer.

"Y-yes... 'the only thing we're allowed to do is believe we won't regret the choices we made'.." I reply slowly.

"I don't regret any moment I have spent with you! The only thing I can ever regret is not taking you with me the first time I saw you! I spent years waiting to see you again.. and now I might lose you!" What he said reminded me what I'm fighting for. It gave me strength. His love was enough to keep me alive. Now I need to use that to save humanity.

"Don't cry.. don't cry anymore.." I whisper wiping away his tears, I smile but it wasn't sad, "be strong.. I will be back soon.. we will open that tea shop outside the walls.. I will do ANYTHING.. cross any distance.. so you can be free.. I will NOT give up.. I will come back alive. I promise." He smiles sadly.. stands me up, and gets down on one knee.

"Then this will seal that promise.. (F/N) (L/N).. will you marry me..?" He asks quietly.

"....yes... yes I will.. of course.." he places the ring on my finger and kisses me. He wipes away my tears. "I have to go.. they will be waiting.."

"I will be there.. I will be right there when you come through that gate and come back to me.." he hugs me once more and I run through the halls, it hurts so badly to leave him.. but I must.

In my leopard form, Eren on my back buried in my fur. Erwin shouts to open the gate. I start running. Running past destroyed lives, destroyed homes.. titans.. it was all gone.. not for long.

I ran and ran until I hear Jaeger. "Right there! That's my house!" He points to a destroyed building.. dried blood covered it.. I felt sadness for this boy. He has seen far to much in too little time. We crawled through the debris to a door, the key worked and we discovered something.. the secret to destroying all titans.. forever. Packing it all in the bags that I had strapped to me, we got out of the debris and I started running, a titan must have sensed Eren, because I was being chased.

*time skip*

The titan was still chasing me. I'm so tired.. the wall is right ahead of us.. the wall.. Levi! He's there! He's coming! Thank the walls! I watch as Levi kills the titan easily and retreats back up the wall to the other side, the gate opens and I run in, right into his arms, changing back into a human.

"I did it.. i did it.." I whisper crying, "thank you.."

"Don't ever leave me again.." he whispers, lifting me up and wrapping his cloak around me.

"I promise.. I won't.." I smile and listen to the cheering of all the people who had been waiting three days for me to return.. these people.. they will all be free.
