Chapter 4: What's that sound?

       I woke up and went straight to McGonagalls office for detention. I was writing lines. I had to write. "I must respect school rules." My wrist was hurting when I finished, but she said I could stop. She was my first class, so she just said I could stay here until people come. I wanted to ask about the Chamber of Secrets, but I chose not too. People started coming in and we had class. After this class we had potions. Snape was scary, like very scary. He kept staring at me. I didn't know what to do. We then had lunch. I talked with Harry, Ron, Hermonie, and Ginny pretty much the whole time. Ron got a howler, from his mom and I kind of felt bad. I wanted to hex Malfoy and his group right across the room. I saw them laughing. His mom yelled at him for taking the car, and congradulated Ginny and me for making it in Gryffindor. I was proud to be in Gryffindor. I loved it, they were my family, since I didn't have a real one. After lunch we had more classes. and then free time. I went to the library and grabbed "Hogwarts: A History" then went to the court yard to meet Ron and Hermonie. We talked for a bit and then the two Quidditch teams came out. They started talking and Ron, Hermonie and I walked over there. I saw Draco in the Slytherin team and wondered how he got on. I never heard him talking with his father about it. Everyone then started arguing and Ron tried to put a curse on Draco. He hit himself not meaning too. They then started laughing and I walked up to Draco. I held my wand up to his neck.
"Your such a prick, Draco. I really want to kill you right now, but thats illegal. So, I'll just do this." I said and pulled my wand back. I then punched him in the nose and raced after Harry and Hermonie dragging Ron before Draco could get a word out. I tried to help Harry and Hermonie, but they just told me to get the doors. In the arguing I heard Draco call Hermonie a Mudblood and thats why I wanted to kill him. That name is so foul, I hate it so much. When we got to Hagrid, he said that Ron just had to wait till it stopped. I could see in Hermonie's face she was hurt. Hagrid asked who Ron tried to curse and Harry explained. Hermonie, I could see was tearing up. Hargid then explained to Hermonie that she is one of the best wizards of her age. That she could do so many spells. I could see her smiling then. Hermonie was one of my friends, I didn't want her hurt. Once everything was fine and everyone left, I staid. I wanted to ask Hagrid about the Chamber of Secrets.
"Hagrid, can i ask you a question?" I asked.
"Sure, Ivy, what is it?" He said in responce.
"Do you know what the chamber of secrets is?" I asked.
"Ivy, how did you find out about that, did you read it somewhere?" He aked.
"I heard someone talking about it and wanted to know what it was." I answered.
"The founder of Slytherin, Salazar Slytherin, wanted hogwarts to have nothing less then Half-bloods. He didn't want Muggle-borns. So he faught for it. He didn't win so he left. In the legend he also left a chamber. The Chamber of Secrets. We have looked everywhere in the school for it, but it has not been found. So we believe there is no such thing. That's all that I know, now go back to class don't want you getting in trouble." He said.
I said goodbye and left. When I got back to the castle, I didn't go to dinner. I wasn't hungry so I walked around the castle. I then heard something, it sounded like slithering. No footsteps, no talking, just slithering. I then heard a cat meow. I stopped walking then and went into a room that was next to me. I then heard someone pass and I waited untill I didn't hear them anymore. I then stepped out and walked down the hall. I saw writing on the wall saying. "The Champer Of Secrets has been opened, enimes of the heir beware." I then saw Mrs. Norris hanging from a hook. I walked up to her and touched her to see if she was dead. She wasn't. I then heard people running and I turned towards them. It was Harry, Hermonie, and Ron.
"I swear I didn't do this I was just passing by." I stated not waning them to think I did it. They didn't say anything to me. They just had shocked expressions. They then saw the writing and read it outloud. I was still looking at Mrs. Norris. Then some more people came and saw it. Then Mr. Filtch came and aw his cat. I kinda felt bad for the man, but his cat wasn't dead, just stunned. All the other Professors then came and told everyone to leave, but us four.
"Professor Dumbledor we didn't do anything I swear. I would never touch Mrs. Norris."
Harry stated.
I didn't speak, but I could see Professor Snape, eyeing me down. He then told Dumbledor that we might have been in the wrong place at the wrong time, but he didn't see Harry or me at dinner. I had no responce. Harry was in Lockharts for detention and I was at Hagrids. I left with Professor Dumbledor since I had no explaination. Once in Dumbledors office I explained how i was in Hagrids.
"I overheard someone talking about The Chamber of Secrets at my house and wanted to know what it was, so I went to Hagrid and asked. He explained it to me." I said.
"Ok, Ms..., Ivy do you know you last name?" He asked.
"My parents were killed when I was a new born. I was taken by someone and put in the Malfoy family to be taken care of, I don't know my last name. It's not Malfoy though and I don't have any family that I know of." I answered.
"Ah I see, do you know how your parents died?" He asked.
"I over heard Lucius say that, the Dark Lord killed them and I had a brother. Don't know who it is though or who the Dark Lord is. Do you, Professor?" I asked.
"Ivy, I don't think I should tell you what I believe might have happened. You are too young right now. You may go back to your room now. Goodnight." He said and I stood up and left. I didn't want to focus on who my brother was or who my parents were, just what i could do about The Chamber of Secrets. I should have told Dumbledor that I heard the things that wrote the thing on the wall, but I chose not too. When I got to the common room everyone was talking about what happened. I ignored them and went straight up to my room and went to sleep.
