Hi : ) . I just wanted to say that I'm really bad with dates, and so now I've decided to write them down . Lol but so last chapter said that on Monday it was the 12th , it's supposed to be the 10th. My apoligies. I'll try my best not to mess up again .

Chapter 5 (Continuation from Chapter 4)

I got out of bed, walked down the stairs, and to the door. When I opened it I saw Rayme standing there with a backpack, her cast, tears streaming down her face. I stepped asie to let her in and then extended my arm towards the living room. She sat on the couch while I stood up looking down at her.

"What?"

She sniffled. "Look, La-"

I exhaled loudly then spoke. "It's Laila."

"Laila.... look please just let me explain to you what happened. Please."

"Go ahead." She stood up.

"Okay so last week after I g- got into the fight with Zoe, I was sent home....."

She paused and I was even more irritated than I was 2 minutes ago when she walked in.

"Continue!"

She jumped and looked at me crying even harder.

"I was sent home and when I got home I was about to run to my room to call you, but my dad met me at the top of the stairs. He was upset so I figured he knew. I thought that he was gonna yell or something but h- he pushed me! He pushed me and I hurt my foot b- because of the w- way I fell."

My face turned from angry to guilty as she continued, tears streaming down her face harder.

"He met me at the bottom and picked me up and rushed me into the car and t- to the hospital! And I fractured something around my foot. I Don't know how to pronounce it... When we got home he told me that he knew what happened in school and that I couldn't talk to you anymore! I- i didn't know what to do. That was the first time he had hurt me. He told me to text you that I didn't want anything else to do with you then checked to make sure that I did."

Okay now I feel like this is my fault.

"Oh my gosh, Ray. I'm so sorry." I watched her stand up and I pulled her into a bear hug.

"No, I'm sorry. I just realized how stupid I was. You've been there for me from day one and I was just doing the same thing for you. My dad may not be the type to hit me, but I do get verbal abuse. He's been like that since my mom left us. You think he'd get over it by now, right?"

And then she let out a small giggle.

Rayme is a true friend. She gave up her father for me.

"So, why do you have that big backpack with you?"

"W-well that's the thing. When I realized that I'd lost my best friend I told my dad that I wasn't gonna listen to him and allow him to ruin my life by not talking to you.... So he kicked me out."

Her dad IS really controlling.

"I'm sooooo sorry."

"It really isn't your fault."

"You can stay h- .... I mean hide here for as long as you want."

"Thanks La."

"Welcome. Okay now it's time to cath you up on whats happened since you cut me off!"

"Haha, okay girl let's go."

I pulled her hand and took upstairs, trying to keep in mind that she has a big cast on her foot, so it took us some time. I opened the door and she plopped on my bed, dropping her stuff in the process.
