-The next day-
"Can you believe it? They jacked up the price!" I yelled to Jack. Everyone began to complain about how they barely make a living now, but all I could think about was Rory. How am I supposed tah help Medda wit her medications? Jack sat down thinking of a way to fix this and Les held everyone back tah give Jack some more room. "We'll go on strike!" he yelled. "We can't strike, we don't have a union." Said Davey. "Who's going on strike?" I hear a familiar voice say. I toin around to face my sister, being assisted by her best friend, Christine Evans. "Rory, WHAT ARE YOU DOIN HEAH!? YOU AREN'T SUPPOSED TO BE OUT OF BED, LET ALONE WALKING THE STREETS!" I yelled.

"Race, we can talk about this later. Now what is going on? I'm a part of this too, don't you forget. I want to help. The doctor said I was finally well enough to leave the house, so that's what I did. If ya gotta problem wit dat, I really don't care. I'm sick of staying inside all day, Anthony. Let me help." I said as calmly as possible. He wasn't going to ruin my good mood. I'd finally gotten out of bed and dressed up for the first time in four years. Being fifteen, that was a good portion of my life. I wish I didn't have to put Race through that when he so young.
I was wearing my favorite outfit, a long black skirt and pink blouse with sleeves down to my elbows with a low collar. My curly hair had been brushed and actually looked decent, since I had tied back half of it with a pink ribbon. And my green eyes sparkled with happiness. I felt beautiful and free. This was the best day I'd had in a while.
"Pulitzer and Hearst jacked up the price of papes. Weah goin on strike to try and make them change back dah price."
And just like that, my happy moment was gone.
