Chapter 27

Still Lucy's POV

I was so happy that I got to stay with the lads that we all did a group hug! "Just please stay safe here," said my dad. "Don't worry, I will," I said. I hugged my parents because they were about to leave. "Bye Lucy, we love you!" they said at once. "I love you guys too!" I said back. They then drove away and we all went back inside for the night.

George woke up the next morning in a really great mood. Today was his birthday! He was so excited and so were we. I just found out because Paul told me in the sitting room. I then had an idea to throw him a surprise birthday party. The others liked that idea and John would be the one to distract him so he won't find out.

We all got to decorating and getting ready. Paul was in charge of streamers, Ringo was in charge of balloons, Becca was in charge of the cake, and I just had to keep everything in order. The streamers would be purple, which is his favorite color (Mine too!) and the balloons would all be different colors.

It took us about 2 hours to get everything done. We turned off all of the lights to wait for John and George to get back. Then the door opened and we all sprang out and yelled, "Surprise!!!" George's eyes went so wide and he was so happy. "Aww you guys are so sweet!" he said.

"It was all Lucy's idea," Ringo pointed out. He smiled at me and hugged me. "You're the best Lucy!" he said. "Thank you," I said back. We all had some cake and Paul bought him 10 bags of Jelly babies. He was really happy at that judging from his reaction when he saw them.

George loved his party and thanked us all. Later that day, Paul wrote a song because he was bored and it sounded nice. He sat at his piano and just randomly played the song and wrote out words. He named it The long and winding road. It may sound sad, but it's actually a nice song.

We all gathered around for Paul to sing us his song. It goes like this:

"The long and winding road, that leads, to your door. Will never disappear, I've seen that road before, it always leads me here, lead me to your door. The wild and windy night, that the rain, washed away, has left a pool of tears, crying for the day, why leave me standing here? Let me know the way. Many times I've been alone, and many times I've cried. Any way you'll never know, the many ways I've tried. And still they lead me back, to the long winding road. You left me standing here, a long long time ago. Don't leave me waiting here, lead me to your door. But still they lead me back to the long winding road. You left me standing here, a long long time ago. Don't keep me waiting here (Don't keep me wait), lead me to your door. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah."

We all clapped and I felt tears come to my eyes. That song was beautiful and sad at the same time. I tried to wipe my tears away, but they kept coming back. George wiped a few away with his thumb and hugged me tightly. I felt a lot better after that.

George had some of his jelly babies and he was so happy while eating them. I know how much he doesn't like to share them, but it's very entertaining when seeing him try to keep them away from the others.

This town is so beautiful and I'm so glad I don't get to leave. All my friends are here and I don't want to leave them. They made me into the person that I am now. The Beatles also inspired me to write my own songs. They also got me to not hide my voice anymore.

These boys are the most awesome people that I have ever met and I don't want to ever leave them. Though at some point I have to, but for now that's something I don't have to worry about. Earlier today, I made something for George and was planning on giving it to him for his birthday.

So I went into his room and set it on the bed. I had to wait for I while for him to come up and he finally did. He walked in and said, "What's this?" I was standing by his doorway while he picked up the box. He didn't know I was standing there and flinched a little bit when he saw me.

"Don't sneak up on me like that," he said with a smile. "Sorry, I didn't think I would scare you," I replied. We both sat down on the bed and George opened his gift. He smiled at it. It was a book filled with all kinds of pictures of us and our friends. "I love it," he said. "I knew you would," I said happily.

"I love you Lucy," he told me. "I love you too George," I said back. We kissed and walked out. George shared the book with the others and they all liked it. It was getting pretty late and we all decided to go to bed. Paul and Becca kissed when they left and we all awed at them.

Before George and I went to sleep, we kissed and I said, "Happy birthday George." "Thank you," he said. I went to sleep knowing that love was everywhere and will always be here to bless our souls and our hearts.
