This book is set in our present time, which is like 2018, and they do have technology, but there is magic, just to make it clear.

But anyways its the first chapter let's goooo!!

I looked down at my watch and I notice the time. It's 11:27 pm but, of course, I am wide awake as I walk the streets of the main city.

Usually, my little entourage would be right behind me but this time they are gone. They don't even know I'm out, because well, I snuck out.

I still wore a mask to hide my features because I would get crowded by fangirls and even assassins if I didn't.  

I had came outside, today of all days, because today was special.

Today was my birthday.

Well, almost.

When the clock strikes 12, it will be my birthday.

Which means I was going to be 25 years of age, and as a Vampire that means I am it's the most important time of my life.

The age of all ages.

Your "Passing of the Throne" age, which I call the PofT.

And I wish it would never come.

All my life I have been pampered and taught all the ways of being a king and honestly, it's not really fun.

My older sister Jisun deserves it because she is way smarter than me and I'm a genius, so she must be smart. She already wants it willingly, but that's just an understatement.

She craves for it.

So I want her to have it, but my parents want me to have it because they think I am more fit for the crown, which is utter bull shit.

But oh well, I can't do anything about it.

Or can I?

All vampires have to find their mates by the time their PofT day comes and I haven't yet so...... what happens?

My sister already has hers and they are happily married so why can't she be crowned?

I then realize that I am talking to myself in my head.

Again.

As I turn the corner, I smell a very delicious smell filled my nose and it brings me nostalgia.

It was my favorite meal the maids always cooked me on my birthday, but as I look at my surroundings, there are no large mansions or estates in sight so I was nowhere near my house.

The smell is getting stronger as I go in one direction, so I keep going until it's at its strongest.

I walk forward under the street light and take in my whereabouts.

I've never been in this part of town before so I take note of every little detail so I can remember for future reference.

There are a few houses on this block and they all are very modest looking and in different whites, tans, and browns.
