Chapter 1
The sun shone brightly though Meg´s window telling her that it was time to wake up. Still she lay in bed. She didn't want to wake up, didn't want to go to school- at least not this school.
Meg had just moved to Stonehill,Pennsylvania and so far she hated everything about it- well almost everything. The only thing she was happy about was the fact that she moved to a wildlife preserve, Ravenswood. Ravenswood used to be a beautiful place open to the public, but now the gates were closed and no one came there anymore.
Some said it was haunted. Meg didn't believe this though, even if the three girls who ran the place before it had closed up had vanished. And in fact, if Meg remembered correctly, the old man who lived there before the girls had also vanished.
Meg sighed and rolled out of her bed. She pulled on a black tee shirt and black pants. Then she headed down the stairs to eat breakfast.
Meg had always felt different, like she was somehow special. Almost like something amazing was going to come up and change her life forever. But she couldn't figure out what. Whenever she mentioned these feelings to her mom she would just laugh and tell Meg what a good imagination she had.
Today Meg felt especially different. However she decided not to mention this to her mom. Instead she ate her breakfast in silence. When she finished her cereal, she grabbed her bag, kissed her mom on the check, and headed out the door.
To get to school Meg had to walk down a path through the woods. The scenery was so beautiful and distracting that Meg soon found her self off the path. She was about to panic but then she heard a calming voice say, ¨This way warrior.¨
Meg was confused but the voice was so calming that Meg decided to listen to what the voice was saying. After walking for a few, she found herself back on the path. She sighed in relief. Then she remembered the kind voice that had lead her back to the path.
¨Thank you¨ she called out hoping for a reply to make sure she wasn't going crazy hearing voices and all.
A big black wolf with silver eyes the color of the north star stepped out of the bushes. He had a white star on his forehead. Meg knew she should run away as fast as she could, but somehow she knew the wolf wouldn't hurt her. She felt drawn to him somehow, like they were meant to meet right here-right now.
Then suddenly a voice in her head said, ¨your welcome¨
Meg turned to see who had said it but when she looked around no one was there.
¨What!?¨ ,Meg asked confused, ¨you can talk!?¨
¨Of coarse I can, all mistwolves can talk.¨ then he added, ¨I´ll be seeing you soon packmate.¨ Then he vanished.
Meg was shocked, she looked at the place where the wolf had been sitting. Had that really just happened? She looked down and saw something glowing on the ground. She walked over, reached down, and picked up- a rock?! ¨How had it glowed¨ she thought to herself. But somehow- someway Meg knew the stone was meant for her and only her. She pulled back her sleeve and put the stone on the charm bracelet her mom had given her. To her shock the stone easily attached to the clasp of the bracelet. It started glowing even more.
Meg then checked her phone for the time. 7:50 am, she only had 10 minutes! She ran as fast as she could and made it to school with barely a minute to spare.
