Note: This is another chapter to be redone, I'm putting it up so you have something to read, while I rewrite and try and finish everything (: This chapter was the last one I had written in chapter format, and was never finished completely. That being said, I hope to improve all of this soon! Thanks!

The door bell at Meg’s house rang and Meg ran to answer it.  When she opened the door she saw her new friend Cat. She smiled, said hello, and invited her in.

“How are you” Cat asked her.

“Oh I’m doing alright” Meg wasn’t sure how to feel about the hike around Ravenswood her and Catherine planned to go on. What if Cat saw something? What if Cat found out her secret, would she keep it?

“Well are we ready to go?” Cat asked excitedly. She obviously was totally into the whole hiking trip.

“Yeah” Meg said after a moment of silence.

The girls walked out the door and onto the trail that lead around Ravenswood. They walked in silence listening to the sound of the birds. As they walked deeper into the woods they heard screaming.

“What was that” Cat looked around nervously.

“I don’t know” Meg looked over her shoulder and saw some sort of creature chasing a girl about her age. “Ahh!” Meg screamed as her stone glowed red- a sign of danger.

Catherine gasped as she saw the girl, she grabbed on to Meg’s arm in terror, then said “ what do we do, we have to help.”

Meg didn’t know what to do. She knew she had to help- but what if Cat discovered her secret? She knew she had to do something.

Finally, after what seemed like eternity, Meg said “Catherine, I can help that girl but you have to promise never to tell anyone what you are about to see”

Cat stood in shock, but she nodded in agreement. Meg turned and started chasing the monster, Cat followed.

“Hey” Meg called to the creature, “leave her alone”

The creature turned, its hideous red eyes glowing. Meg stood still totally afraid. The eyes pierced through her and made it too where she couldn’t even move. Finally Meg screamed, and magic burst out of her stone and slammed into the monster. It roared in pain and surprise that spoke, “Mage! You are a mage!”

Cat turned in shock, “You’re a mage?!” she asked.

Meg didn’t have any time to answer, the creature lunged at her full force. Meg had no time to react and she just covered her eyes preparing herself for a deadly blow from the creature.

When nothing happened she slowly uncovered her eyes and gasped. In front of her there was a pinkish white shield of magic, but it wasn’t her magic. Confused she turned her head and saw Catherine with her hands raised in the air. Meg noticed a stone that was on Cat’s necklace. It was shaped like a unicorn horn and it was glowing!
