Once upon a time- No that sounds too happy doesn’t it? Well then let us start grimmer shall we? Once a long time ago in a dark and grim town there lived a little boy. His name was Jasper Williams. He was the nicest and happiest little boy you could meet. He always helped people when they needed help, smiled at people when he saw them, and even helped a cat out of a tree three times taller than him.
But one day this little boy changed. Shall I tell you how it happened? Of course I should! Now then let us go back in time to see Jasper’s story of how he became what he is today.
On October 31st of 1867 in London, England Jasper was preparing himself. He had to go to a party with his parents and he was not happy about it. Especially because it was his birthday!
“Why do I have to go mummy?”Young Jasper whined to his mother as she fixed his tie.
“Because we can’t find a sitter for you. Now hold still.” His mother smiled kindly at him as she finished fixing his tie. They were soon off for the carriage and to the party. Jasper twitched in annoyance in his seat. He wanted to have fun today, not go to a party where he has to wear a suit!
“Now then Jasper go and run along and find someone to play with. We have business to attend to.” His father ushered him away. Young Jasper huffed at this and started walking when something caught his interest. It was a little boy running through a door. He followed after him quickly and down corridors of the large mansion until he reached a large ebony door.
“I wonder where this leads…?” Young Jasper asked himself as he opened the door. Inside was a large toy room. Stuffed animals, wooden toys, even a rocking horse were scattered around the room. Young Jasper was so amazed by this he didn’t even know that this room had been abandoned so long ago when the child of the mansion died.
“Are you here to play with me?” a small voice whisper. Jasper looked at a corner to see a child standing there with a stuffed bear in his hands. His hair was dark as the night sky and his eyes as red a rubies. His skin was so pale he looked almost white as snow! His loose black and white striped shirt and black shorts looked so innocent he looked like any other kid in town.
“Who are you?” Jasper asked the boy.
“I’m Daemon.” The child whispered.
“I’m Jasper and of course I want to play with you! It beats being with the grownups on my birthday!” Jasper smiled. Oh he should have never said that. Young Daemon’s eyes light up like stars and he ran over to Jasper.
“Really? I-It’s your birthday?” Daemon asked. Jasper just nodded his head, his dark chocolate locks of hair bouncing with his head. Daemon dragged him to a chest and threw it open and pulled out something. It was a box wrapped in red paper.
“What is it?” Jasper asked as Daemon shoved it into his hands.
“Open it!” Daemon smiled. Jasper blinked and ripped the box open and found something odd inside. It was a black stuffed cat with white button eyes and a little bow tie around its neck. As he looked at the doll curiously he never knew his surroundings changed. The once beautiful toy room was now old looking and had blood stains on the wall. The cute stuffed animals fell apart and the wood toys rotted. The walls paint peeled and turned a sickly grey.
Even little Daemon changed. His once silky hair was messy and looked like straw and his ruby eyes lost their shine and glowed evilly. His clothes were ripped and had blood stained on him. Even his bear looked evil now! His little snow hands held a knife tightly in their grasp as he walked behind Jasper.
“Thanks Daemon! You’re the best friend I could ever have!” Jasper grinned turning to face him. When he looked at his new friend he gasped and dropped the cat doll. Little Daemon had tears dripping down his face. He never had a friend and if he killed him now… Who would he play with? He put the knife down and looked at his friend and grinned.
“If I can’t kill you…” Young Daemon grinned walking slowly to his ‘friend’. “I’ll make you like me~…” he sang lunging at him and clawing at his clothes. He clawed markings into little Jaspers body so deep you could see the white of bone and the moving of organs! Young Jasper slowly bled but never died. He just lost all the blood in his body.
His organs stopped working as he took his last human breath. For what little Daemon had done was simple. He made Jasper immortal. Of course he would age and grow but he would stop at a ripe age of 21. When he reached that age he would stop growing and would look like that forever. Even little Daemon would grow and stop just a year after Jasper.
“W-what did you do?!” Jasper shouted standing up looking at the blood soaked wood. His clothes were shreds on the floor except for some cloth clinging to his body.
“Were immortal Jasper~. So now we can play forever!” Young Daemon laughed madly after he finished his evil sing song sentence and let Jasper run out. When he got to the room where the party was he went to find his mother and father.
“Mother! Father!” he shouted. When he found them he went to hug his father. When he did his father smiled but then screamed in horror at what was hugging his legs. He kicked his ‘son’ off him and got a knife and stabbed Jasper repeatedly. Everyone watched in horror as the ‘dead’ boy was stabbed and then left there. He was carried out and thrown into the river but he swam out. He waited for everyone to leave until he went back in. He found Daemon in the toy room. It looked just as how he first saw it.
“Welcome back~.” Daemon smiled at him, blood caked fingers holding a heart. “Let’s play okay?” Daemon smiled.
So you see that’s the story of how Jasper came to be. As for what happened to the owners of the mansion let’s say no one knows shall we? The family looked for their little boy Jasper but the town eventually gave up and pronounced him dead. Now what are they doing after we left them? I believe Jasper and Daemon still live in that mansion, still playing in the toy room as they had done years and years ago. Let us call them ‘The Best of Friends’ shall we?
