Wendy sat in her room, holding a pencil in front of her face. She was so bored. Utterly, completely bored.
She had just moved. Again. For the fourth time. Her parents were always moving because of "business things". That's what they called it anyway. One time, it was because the customers were apparently better over at the new place. Funnily enough, business died less then a month later. So that meant none of her stuff was here, and all she had was the pencil she found
Wendy got up. Going downstairs couldn't be worse then here. She walks into the kitchen. "Mum? I've got a question."
"Yes love?" A muffled voice asked.
"What are you doing in the dishwasher? I didn't think there was anything to wash."
"Oh no, there isn't. I just wanted to wash this fork." She held up the piece of stainless steel quite proudly. "That was a very pointless and time wasting question. Can't you see I'm busy dear?"
"No, actually that wasn't what I wanted to ask. I want something to do. Can I draw?"
"Of course you could, only there's no pencils, only paper. You can't draw with only paper. Silly silly silly," her mum said, turning back to the dishwasher.
"But-"
"Don't be silly. How about you go play outside? I'll bet you find someone out there to play with. No adults, just kids, mind you. I don't want you near strangers." Wendy didn't bother to point out that kids on the street were strangers. "Anyway, go find a new friend. You'll find at least one person outside, I promise.
