O.K. Time for chapter 2. Let's do this.

She was wrong. No one was out there. Wendy walked up and down the street. Empty.
She headed for home. On the way, she saw something she had missed. A row of shops lined the road. There was a cafe, a dry-cleaners, a bakery and and a barbers.
She walked home, and was surprised to find the gate open. Surely she had closed it? Frowning, she walked inside.
This was odd. Her mum was laughing. Her dad was saying, "good one mate!" And someone else was there talking. "Mum, Dad, I'm home!" She called out.
"Oh, good dear, can you go get the food. It's on the kitchen bench."
Wendy walked into the kitchen. Oh, lovely, food. She was hungry after being so bored. She took it out to her parents, walking halfheartedly. For some reason, she wasn't feeling confident walking out there. She turned the corner to fins her parents....and a stranger.
"Oh, hi, sweetheart. Meet Mr....uh..."
"Glusesoman"
"Ah, yes, that's how you say it, Glusimon. Say hello."
"Uh...hello Mr Glusimon." She put her hand out to shake. The man didn't take it, instead when her mum started talking again, he gave her a really hair-raising scowl.
"Ok, set the food on the table, will you dear?"
Wendy stepped forward to put the food down. Then she saw the man scowl again and ever so slightly move his leg...
"Ahhhh!" She tripped over his leg, sending the dinner's accompanying sauce all over the man. "Uh, uh, I'm so so SO sorry Mr Glusimon."
He gave her a death stare. "MY CLOTHES! They were just DRYCLEANED!"
"Wendy, go get the paper towels, quickly!" Her mum shooed her into the kitchen, and then left to fix the dinner.
She rummaged through the cupboards for the towels. The man walked in. "WHERE ARE THE PAPER TOWELS? FIND ME THEM!" Wendy started and bumped her head. "Uh, uh.." Was all she could say.
"Well, little girl? Got something to say? Do not talk, find me the towels!"
She did, and handed them with a shaking hand to the man. His stubble was disgusting. "What have you got to say about this?" He said pointing to his face.
"You might want to shave?" Said Wendy, mistaking his gesture for pointing to his beard.
"WHAT DID YOU SAY TO ME?"
"Uh, uh"
"You said I NEED TO SHAVE!" He spat at her. "YOU NEED MANNERS, and I am going to teach you a LESSON!"
"I'm sorry, Mr Glusimon..."
"Glusimon? GLUSIMON? It's GLUESOMAN!" Quieting to a whisper,or in his case a hiss, and a lighter shower of spit, he said, "You are going to pay!" And with that he stormed out.
Her mum hurried in. "Where's Mister Glu, Glu? Glusimon?" Forgetting his name. " Glusimon? Where'd he go?
"He..um..left?"
"WENDY! You shouldn't of tripped over! Now look what you've done! Now we are going to have to find a new neighbour to befriend! Wendy! Why do you have to be like you are? Ugh... Just go to your room, Wendy."
"But mum, I'm hungry, and-" Her mother cut her off. Wendy recognised the use of her name more than once in a sentence. This wasn't a good thing.
"You know what? Don't bother! I'm going to bed! I'm tired, fed up and I've had enough! Help yourself to what's left of dinner. Goodnight Wendy." She walked out.
Wendy sat down. Why was it that her life had to be like this?
