Chapter Forty

It was almost midnight and all the party guest had left with the exception of us four. I haven't spotted Micheal anywhere after he got a call and they assured me he might have left to meet the person.

I decided to stop worrying about him and help clean up Frank place, since his phone was switched off when I called. Nelly suddenly emerged from the kitchen looking all worked up.

" Tony I need you to drive me to Raquel's place," She stated obviously stressed out.

"Why what is the problem?" Frank questioned whilst we all stopped what we are doing to listen.

" I don't know, I just have a wierd feeling something is wrong with Raquel," She replied in agitation.

" Baby relax and call her," Tony said and went to stand beside her before he started massaging her shoulders to calm her down.

" I have been calling her for sometime now and it keeps going to voicemail," She responded.

" Keep trying then," Kiera suggested.

" Naa, I need to go to see her. I'm not getting good vibes about the issue," She replied firmly, yanking Tony after him.

"Ok then, we will all go with you," Frank stated and we all filed after them.

Raquel's place was incredibly quiet when we got there with the exception of the sound of night crickets. Her gateman was fast asleep and Nelly had to call out his name before he woke up to open us.

We headed towards the main door of the house and rang the doorbell several times without an answer.

"Aboki," Nelly called out the gateman's name in panic.

" Are you really sure your Madam is around?" She questioned him.

" Yes, she has been inside all day," He replied with certainty.

" Ok you go back to your post," She stated and dismissed him from our presence.

" I'm calling her too and is going to voicemail," Frank said with his face creased in worry.

"I suggest we break in," Kiera suggested which we all nod in agreement.

" Naa we don't have to do that, I have her password," Nelly responded, still pacing about.

" Then Bae come and open it, so that we can check on her right now. I'm beginning to fear the worst," Tony replied before he urged Nelly towards the door.

"Do you think is the right thing to do?"Nelly questioned unsure of herself.

" It is, considering the situation,"Kiera added.

"Ok guys,lets do this," Nelly said before taking in a deep breath.

She quickly punched in the code and we all followed behind her. There was light streaming from the hall area and we headed in that direction.

" Raquel! Micheal! We all screamed in union at the sight infront of us, too shocked to do anything else.

They were busily locking lips like nothing else mattered in this world. My throat instantly went dry and I couldn't breathe properly. My heart thumpered so fast making my head ache instantly.

"What is going on here?" Tony asked in astonishment.

" I just can't believe this?" Kiera whispered clearly taken aback.

"This can't be happening," Frank stated, a deep frown on his face.

" I thought you guys were done with this shit," Nelly stated in exasperation.

Before I realised I was on top of her with a tight grip on her hair and was being dragged away from her.

" Get away from my sister,"

"Get a hold of your fiancé Micheal,"

" Calm down you are going to hurt her," Everyone was busily talking and there was so much commotion I couldn't identify who was saying what.

I was beyond furious now, as Micheal held me tightly against him. I began to kick about in his arms trying to break free. Tears were streaming down my face and I couldn't contain my emotions.

" Leave me alone," I began to scream like a mad woman whilst he held unto me tightly.

" Micheal just get her out of here!" Nelly commanded, whilst she hugged Raquel on the couch, shielding her face from the others.

I could tell Raquel was sobbing from the way her body was heaving. Kiera was still stuck at the door way,clearly still in shock.

Micheal finally hauled me over his shoulders and made his way out of the house. I was still kicking about demanding him to put me down which he refused.

He roughly sat me down in his car and put the child lock on to prevent me from getting down.

" Micheal you made me follow you all the way down to Ghana just to make a fool out of me isn't it?" I questioned furiously whilst he drove out of the compound.

"Won't you mind me!" I demanded when he looked towards the road not paying any heed to me.

" What do you want me to say?" He questioned calmly not sparing me a glance.

"At least say something, like it was a mistake or defend yourself. Don't make it seem like am the only one who cares about us," I retorted.

" It wasnt a mistake ayt , are you Ok now," He replied heatedly.

" What the hell Micheal, you meant you have been making a fool out of me," I retorted hitting my palms against the dashboard repeatedly.

" I didn't mean to hurt you but I love her and I can't hide it anymore," He responded calmly.

"Jesus!, can you hear yourself speak. That is your father's ex wife," I stated in exasperation.

" Do I look like I care now?" He retorted not perturbed.

" I'm not going to be anyone's second best. Is either me or nobody else Micheal. You need to get that," I responded in a heated manner, beyond furious now.

" Just accept that and move on Laila," He retorted driving faster now.

" Micheal this isn't over till I say so," I retorted seeing red at his statement.

" Laila don't force things to happen between us," He stated.

" Micheal stop the car!" I demanded as his words made me feel suffocated.

"No!" He retorted.

"Micheal you better stop the car," I stated taking hold of the gear and the steering wheel.

"Laila stop it!" He screamed.

"We will die together today and you will lose her forever," I stated hysterically, steering the car side ways and pulled the gear backwards.

We began to struggle for the control of the car . The car kept changing lanes as results and I was determined not to let go.

" Micheal watch out!" I screamed when I noticed a cargo car heading directly towards us.

Micheal quickly swerved to the left which took the car off the main road and directly into a tree.

I felt my entire life flash before me after which I slipped into total darkness.
