It's been a week now since I've seen Jack and it's kind of lonely because so far he's my only friend in LA. We've texted a few times but haven't seen each other face to face and it really sucks, because honestly he's really fun to have around. Instead of watching Netflix, like I always do I get dressed in Short overalls, an old t shirt, and some hightop Converse. I put my hair in a ponytail and run around trying to find my skateboard, "Mama have you seen my skateboard anywhere?"

My mom walks into the living room holding my skateboard in one hand, "Looking for this?" she hands it over and I run out of the house without telling her where I was going, I'll just have to tell her later. I jog my way over to Jack's house excited to see my friend. I slowly go up the steps and lightly knock on the door. No answer. I knock again. Nothing. I knock one last time. A girl with dark hair answers the door.

"Is Jack home?" I ask her.

She checks me out looking up and down, "He's here but doesn't want to see anyone right now."

"Who are you if I may ask?"

She gives me a long stare making me uncomfortable, "I'm Ellie, Jack's girlfriend... Who are you?"

"I'm y/n, Jack's friend."

I hear footsteps from behind the door and Jack shows up, "Oh hey y/n!" he opens the door more so I could see both Ellie and him. He looks at her with so much love it makes me sick, she faces him and wraps her arms around him.

"Well I was wondering if you can hangout but it looks like you're busy soooo see you later." I fake a smile and wave goodbye, riding  off to the skate park where Jack and I always hangout. I sit on concrete burning my skin a little, but I didn't mind. She seems okay is all I could think. I mean she has a lot of sass but that is like 99.9% of teenage girls, like I'm sassy sometimes. I laugh at myself and grab my skateboard practicing some moves.

When I was walking down the street, "Jack comes out from his house and walks over to me, "Sorry about earlier."

I look down at the cracks of the sidewalks, "No, it's fine... She seems nice."

He stops in his tracks and laughs, "Nice? That was nice? You're delusional!" I look up from the ground and stare at him for a moment trying to comprehend what he is saying, "She was being rude and it wasn't nice of her to be all over me while you're there."

"I mean I guess..."

"When Ellie is around don't show her that your feelings are hurt because that is exactly what she wants." I give him a questioning look.

"Then why do still stick around her?Why do you put up with her-"

"gazebos..." he smiles.

"What?"

"Gazebos, bullshit." I giggle a little.

"Exactly."

We sit on my front porch to get comfortable, "Because I love her." he looks up at the sky for awhile, not speaking a word.

I get up from the stairs and pat his shoulders,  "We are to young to know what love is, heck I bet you none of these kids in high school know what love is... Goodnight Jack." Without saying anything else I left him on my front porch, he sat there for a moment thinking then walked back to his house.
