"Guys, I'm going out to the store to get cola!"

The day after, they were out of cola. Edd drank the rest of the cola while they were watching television. Edd was not happy about this, but sadly, he couldn't make cola magically appear.

Edd shoved his keys into his pocket and walked over to the front door. Before leaving, he yelled, "You guys know the rules!"

The rules were simple. One, they had to stay away from windows. Two, they had to stay quiet. And three, they could not go outside. These rules were set in place to keep Tom and Matt safe from RL, if he was looking for them. The day before was an exception, since Edd doubted that anyone could really see them, besides Eduardo, Jon, and Mark. If Edd wasn't there, he couldn't keep them safe. So this was the best they could do.

Edd opened the door and walked outside. He locked the door once he shut it, and he was off to the store. Edd decided to walk rather than drive for once. It was a nice day, after all.

When Edd got to the store, the cold breeze of the air conditioning hit his face. That felt good. The grocery store was a pretty nice place; the items weren't too pricy and Edd was usually out of the store in fifteen minutes. It was convenient having a good grocery store close by.

Edd grabbed a cart and immediately went to the soda aisle. Edd had been in that aisle so many times that he could walk over to it with his eyes closed. Like always, on the third shelf, there was cola. Satisfied with how easy it was to find some fresh cola, he put two boxes of colas in the cart. Perfect.

Edd was about to go to the checkout, but he heard an interesting conversation and stopped to quickly listen. He pretended to browse.

"Paul, they wouldn't be in a grocery store." One of them said. He had a deep voice.

"You never now," the other, which Edd assumed was Paul, replied. "They could be hiding."

"You're an idiot."

"I'm not!"

"You think that we can find two monsters in a grocery store?"

Edd froze. Two monsters. Were they talking about... Matt and Tom?

"Shut up."

"At least Yuu and Yanov are out knocking on doors looking for them," the one with a deep voice said, and sighed. "RL is gonna be pissed if we don't bring them back soon."

That was all Edd needed to hear. He quickly made his way out of the aisle and checked out. Edd had to get home as fast as he could to warn Matt and Tom of these fiends. He got his colas in two bags and practically ran outside. Edd ran all the way home. When he got to the front door, sweat was dripping down his face. He jiggled the doorknob to make sure it was already locked.

It wasn't. The door opened. Edd's heart sank in his chest, but he kept hope.

Edd walked inside and looked around. They weren't downstairs.

"Matt? Tom?"

No response. Edd dropped the bags and ran up the stairs.

"MATT? TOM?"

Edd looked in each room, but there was no Matt and Tom. Edd stepped back into the hallway. He felt dizzy. He felt like he was going to throw up.

He had to get his friends back.
