I refused to be contained, refused to live in fear anymore. 18 years of my life, wasted because my fears chained me, but no more, I was finally going to breathe. Shivering at the water's touch, I know it's dangerous and I shouldn't be here. Tonight, was my night, and time was ticking.
Tucking my camera into my chest, hiding it from the rain, I ran, water splashing on my legs as I giggled. My heart beating against my chest, excitement coursing through me, waiting for adventure to come. Looking around, my eyes spotting a corner lit up by bright lights, a sign hanging above it saying 'Male's Place' in bright neon. Grabbing my camera, I snapped a picture, my smile growing as I made my way toward the club. I had to make the most of tonight.
Entering, I pushed through the wave of bodies getting to the counter where I leaned, my eyes sweeping the scene ahead of me. I wasn't use to this scenery and it made my adrenaline build up inside me. Grabbing my camera, I took another picture. Memories can only last for so long and I'm determined to capture this.
Feeling eyes on me I turn my head, making contact with eyes hidden behind shades. He stood hidden in the crowd, but was tall enough that I could see him. His black hair was gelled, tan skin glistening. Holding his gaze, my hands itched to take a picture of this handsome man. Grabbing it, I took the picture watching his once neutral face turn to shock. I couldn't help smiling before turning away.
Looking around, I knew enough time was wasted, so I grabbed my things and headed for the door. As I left, a hand grabbed mine, sparks invading me. I met with the man behind the shades. Introducing himself as Giovanni, his words sounded of symphonies. Telling him I'm Aries, I dragged him to a carnival wordlessly. Running through the puddles, our hands held together, we talked, the moon shining bright.
We went on the rollercoasters, my screams filling the air as he laughed. The moon glistening above us as we talked. Once in a while I'd grab my camera and take pictures of us. My phone ringing in my pocket chaotically, but I ignored it.
Getting onto the Ferris wheel, I held my breathe knowing this was it. Reaching the top, fireworks erupted as I turned to him, his shades on his tanned face. Reaching out, I pulled them off meeting with dark brown eyes. Giovanni was someone I wish I'd never met, but was glad I did. He leaned down pressing his lips to mine, moving in sync together. I laid my head closing my eyes, a perfect night to end with. Closing my eyes, the distant screams from my father filled the air as I drifted off into sleep I'll never wake up from. My last hours were ones I'll never forget, and I hope Giovanni never forgets either.
