This work is dedicated to my unusual mother who read me The Pickwick Papers, Lorna Doone, and Animal Farm as a child, for never failing to be there when I needed someone.
Secondly, this work is a tribute to Charles Dickens whose books inspired and taught me how to tell a tale early in life, and to Portsmouth, the beautiful English seaside town he was born in.
