Chapter 10: Wait, didn't she say...

Grayson's P.O.V

Jeez... I'm crazy about this girl. It's so soon but there's just something about her. She's not like any other girl that just throws herself at you, not like the girls who just want you for the fame and money. She's genuine. The most genuine person I've ever met. I'm falling for her.

After a moment of pause while my thoughts run wild Brook decides to speak bringing my back to reality. The two of us in the middle of this small lake with the sun shining down at us through the trees.

"What now pretty boy?" She says teasingly while poking my chest and smiling flirtatiously

"Now you're gonna see what I REALLY wanted to show you" I say confidently even though I was pretty nervous for this.

"Shall we?" I say while gesturing Brook to get on my back so she won't have to walk on the rocks and stuff at the floor of this lake.

She hops on and I walk towards the other side of the lake which wasn't much of a distance.
I reach the other side and surprisingly the grass is still as smooth and healthy as it was when Eth and I were kids. I set Brook down and she gives me a shimmering smile nearly blinding me with her pearly whites. I take B's hand and we start to walk over to the nearest trees.

"What's this?" Brooks asks clearly seeing the carvings on the trees that say 'G waz hea ;)' & 'E loves turtles'

"When Ethan and I were about 7 years old we'd come here and carve on trees for fun and there's a secret tree somewhere that we both carved as well but actually... that's for you to see some day in the future" I say with a wink. I couldn't do it. Not now. It's too soon!

*Flash back to when Eth & Gray we're 7*
7 year old Gray's P.O.V
It was a sunny summer day in New Jersey. Ethan and I were playing around in the lake and then we decided to take a break and eat some lunchables by the trees.

"Hey Eth wanna go write on trees?" I say randomly thinking about the way Cameron did it when she got her first boyfriend.

"Ooh sounds cool! How do we do that?" Ethan says putting down his fruit punch Capri sun that came with his lunchable

"Let's ask Cam to help us!" I say getting up and running over to where Cam was sitting by the lake with our mom and dad, Eth followed.

"Hey Cam remember when you carved that tree of you and-" I start and then get cut off by Cameron cause she knew where I was going

"Yes what about that treacherous tree?" Cameron asks clearly bothered by the fact that I brought it up. It's something she's embarrassed about cause she was our age when she did it and her and the kid broke up about 2 weeks later.

"Can you help Ethan and I? We wanna carve on trees" I say excitingly while Ethan stands next to me smiling and nodding yes.

"Well I can help find some rocks for you guys to use, make sure they're big enough and have sharp edges" Cam says because that's what she did. We were to young to be allowed to use knives at least that's what our mom said.

"Yeah!" Ethan and I say together

We went along to the shore of the lake because that's where there was the most rocks and we found a couple of good ones and ran back to the trees we were sitting by.

We start to carve out random things. Mine said 'G waz hea ;)' and E's said 'E loves turtles'

"Dude! We should make one to our future girlfriends!" Ethan says very enthusiastically

"Oh my gosh yeah bro! You're a genius" I say and we go a little bit further into the forest and Ethan chose his tree and I chose mine. I carved in 'Be Gray's GF? circle yes or no' and Ethan put 'E <3 U
Be his GF?'
"One day we're gonna have some hot chicks and they're gonna love this" Ethan says feeling like a bad ass
