Why we decided to share this building amongst each other and call it home I'll never know.

I watched the creatures below my feet swimming happily around Feferi and Dirk, Gamzee swimming by a small purple cuttlefish a bit away from the other two.

The water was a nice temperature and I could tell they were all enjoying themselves. I had also been swimming around with a small red colored seahorse Fef had given me not to long ago. Unfortunately land dwellers need air to breathe so I came up to catch my breath. Dirk and Gamzee had scuba masks on and of course little miss bubbles down there could breathe just fine. That just left me all alone up out of the water, while the others where inside the building doing gog knows what.

I laid back against the tiles. They were oddly warm for being next to a huge aquarium that was kept fairly cool. I just decided to close my eyes and relax when a gravely voice pulled me out of my head.

"WHAT THE F*** IS HAPPENING OUT HERE?" Came the unimpressed greeting from my matesprit.

Karkat came closer to where I was currently laying on the ground and looked down at me with a cocked eyebrow and his hand on his hip. He had no idea how adorable he looked trying to be all uninterested. Not even ironically adorable. Just flat out "I'm-going-to-be-sick-from-all-this-sappy-sh*t" adorable.

I smiled up at my boyfriend. "Hey Karkles, wanna come swimming. With us?" I didn't bother moving from my spot as he sat down beside me.

"I DON'T KNOW HOW TO SWIM."

Of course he didn't. What reason would he possibly have for swimming?
He was lower on the hemowhatsit and from what he had told me in the past, some of those fish trolls weren't too keen on having "landwwelling scum stinken up the oceans". Wonder who told him that....
*insert sarcastic tone here*

I smiled and wrapped my damp arms around Karkats waist telling him that he could just chill out here with me for a while if he wanted.

Somewhere below us there was a fit of bubbles followed by one weird a** clown troll popping his head out of the water.

"hEy BrOtHeR. wHaT iS mOtHeRf***iNg Up?" Gamzee smiled at Karkat, the clowns hair still braided, thanks to Aradia. He talked with Karkat for a minute as I kissed my matesprits arm gently. I wasn't paying attention and before I knew it, the clown had disappeared back down into the depths of the aquarium.

Not long after that, Dirk came splashing up onto the side of the aquarium, informed us he was "heckin tired" then proceeded to pass out right where he laid.

I laughed a bit at his terrible sleeping arrangements before rolling him over away from the water. Apparently Ninja Tech genius can't be bothered to wake up and kick a** when he's spent a good hour and a half straight (Dirk can't do anything straight, what was I thinking?) swimming and doing some pretty bad a** tricks underwater.

After making sure Dirk wouldn't drown, I went back and sat by Karkat.

"You know, I could teach you how to swim if you wanted. Even throw in some free CPR lessons just so you know your safe* I winked at the short troll, receiving a small blush. He looked away, flustered and I grinned. He then looked down into my shadeless eyes and smirked.

Whatever Karkat was about to say was cut off as captain chucklenuts pushed himself up to the surface of the water, splashed us, then absconded back to the depths of Fef's tank. I sat up, sending a glare down through the crystal clear water as it settled from his movements. Gamzee shot back a snarky grin and waved from beneath us.

Rolling my eyes I turned back to the annoyed troll beside me, wiping some water from his face and kissing his cheek to calm him down. He relaxed and laid his head on my shoulder.

"THERE'S NOT MUCH WATER WHERE I COME FROM." He started. "BUT I WOULDN'T BE OPPOSED TO LEARNING AS LONG AS YOU WERE THE ONE TEACHING ME." Karkat turned his face into my neck, nuzzling a bit before leaning back and smiling at me.

I smiled and kissed my matesprit's cheek. "I'm a great teacher. Should go swimmingly as long as the clownfish behaves himshellf." Karkat groaned at my sh*tty puns and playfully pushed me away. I then slipped into the water, laughing slightly. I stayed close to the edge and looked up at him, silently asking if he was ready to start the lessons. He kicked his legs in the water briefly before nodding and slipped down slowly into the cool water beside me.

I wrapped an arm around Karkat's waist, both of us keeping one hand on the side of the tank.
