~Gabi's POV~
I wake up for another horrible day of school, wanting so bad to just go back to sleep. I try and roll out of bed, but I only end up falling face-down on my pillow, and falling back asleep. I'm supposed to wake up at 6:45, but I have insomnia, so it's hard for me to sleep. I wake back up and realize it's 7:20. I'm supposed to be at the bus stop in 5 minutes. "Shoot." I whisper to myself. I jump out of bed and put on my coral Aeropostale shirt, and my American Eagle khakis and run into the kitchen for my "breakfast." (Which is just a protein shake since I'm late.)
I gulp it down, grab my book bag, and run outside to catch the bus, just before it drives away. I walk up the steps and take my seat next to one of my two best friends; Callie. (The other's name is Tessa.)
"Hey Gabriela!" Callie exclaims.
"Cal, I told you to stop calling me that. It's Gabi. Just Gabi."
"Ugh fine." She groans.
At the next stop, Tessa gets on the bus and sits in the row across from us.
"Hey guys!" Tessa says.
"So . . ." She plops down in her seat. "Did Daniel ask you out yet Callie?"
"No, he still hasn't." Callie whines.
"Then he's still an idiot." I smirk. Callie rolls her eyes.
"A hot idiot." She pokes her lip out and pouts.
We arrive at the school and hop out of the bus. "Bye Jerald!" I yell at the bus driver.
"Bye Gabi! Have a nice day!" He yells back.
When we get to the front of the school, we walk in and sit at the lunchroom tables in the front of the building. We always get there 30 minutes before class starts. Adrien always gets there early. I've had a crush on Adrien since 6th grade; three years. Three years of him liking anyone but me. That anyone being Alya Blakely. Alya Blakely is his girlfriend. His stupid, obnoxious, beautiful girlfriend, who wears shorts that are way tighter than they should be. My friends always tell me that I'm way prettier than her or whatever, but we all know that's not true.
Anyway, my friends catch me staring at them, and they wave their hands in front of my face.
"Okay, okay, stop." I giggle.
"Gabi, you stare at Adrien so much that if your brain was a photo album, all the pictures would be of him." They chuckle. I roll my eyes. I wasn't actually staring at him. I was staring at her. With her beautiful long, blonde hair, and her ocean blue eyes. Her perfect features. Everything. It hurts so bad to see them together. He just thinks of me as 'the weird girl from class.' But he is always with Alya. ALWAYS. You never see one without the other. It's ticks me off, but I can't change how he feels. He hardly talks to me anymore, so that doesn't help very much. But sometimes I wish I could just forget about him. And his perfect blonde hair, and his baby blue eyes . . .
My friends and I walk to our first class, Math. I come into the classroom, and Mrs. Reed is waiting for us at the front.
"Okay class, today we're going to do something a little different. You will be assigned a project, and a partner for that project. Let's start with partners." She looks straight at me. "Gabi, you'll be working with . . ." Please not Adrien. . . please not him. I'll just end up making a fool of myself. Anyone but Adrien . . . "Adrien! Yeah, you guys will work nicely together." I give her a pleading look, but she just winks at me and continues pairing people.
I see Adrien turn to Alya and say, "Ugh, of all people to work with . . ." before I slam my head on my desk, and bury it in my arms.
This is severely, extremely, totally going to suck. I think to myself.
