things are scary sometimes. things are unpredictable.

dan promised his grandmother that he would keep the bakery running. promised.

he remembers holding her soft hands while listening to the repeated beeping on the computer monitor telling her that he will keep the bakery for as long as he lives. and he remembers the last smile she shed before- before the beeping stoped.

the thought of it all still made him tear up and sob. but he learned to control his tears. especially in public.

but he had to get the bad thoughts out of his head.

as he was working the orders, the same black haired boy from yesterday came back.

dan mentally groaned because he didn't wan to deal with this guy wanting a vanilla cupcake again.

but when he walked  in, the black haired  guy obviously knew he was crying and emotional. but the last thing dan wanted was a person complaining about vanilla cupcakes.

"we don't have vanilla right now"

"what's wrong?"

dan was taken back. he even looked behind him to see if te black haired boy was actually talking to him.

"excuse me?"

"your hair it's, it's not straight and your eyes are red like you've been... crying?"

dan sighed but didn't answer the black haired boys question but repeated what he had said when he walked to the counter.

"i'm sorry but, we don't have any vanilla right now"

after dan said that, the last thing he saw was a concerned face before he went behind the wall in the kitchen to get out of sight.

"i'm going to lose my bakery"
