When Jade woke the next morning she was unpleasantly welcomed by a pounding pain in her head. She slowly raised her head from her pillow, careful not to go too quick and worsen the pain, and used her arms as leverage to sit herself up and lean against the headboard of her bed.

The headache could have been due to a number of reasons- the amount of alcohol Jade had consumed the night before (which was much more than she'd usually have), the fact that she'd only gotten about two hours of broken sleep and thirdly because her brain was so frazzled from the troublesome happenings of the previous night.

Jade shrivelled her nose in disgust when she realised that if she hadn't seen sense last night, that horrible blonde would have been snoring beside her right now. Or then again maybe not. She probably would have left right after she had gotten what she wanted from Jade.

The image of the girl had plagued Jade's mind all night and it was safe to say she wasn't one bit content with this. All Jade wanted was to go back in time and make herself realised just how the blonde was playing her before things went as far as they did. But the hands on the clock only turn one way,  and for now Jade would just have to deal with the consequences of her actions.

Jade wasn't one for self pity, but she was feeling pretty sorry for herself in relation to her disastrous love life. First her boyfriend had cheated on her at a party they were attending TOGETHER and now she had let herself be toyed with by someone who she was pretty sure was something of a serial shagger. She was simply extremely unfortunate in romance.

Jade sighed out in annoyance and intended to try to pull herself together and drag all the pity and negative emotions to the back of her mind but her attempt was halted when she heard her phone ring.

It was right beside her and was turned up to the last, so the ringtone went straight through Jade and made her head sting in further pain. She fumbled around beside her and picked up her phone, reluctantly answering to an overly joyful Sam.

"Morning Jade" he said in an exasperatingly cheerful tone which made Jade want to bang her head against the wall. She wasn't in the mood for Sam's constant and often annoying happiness today.

"Morning" Jade grumbled half-heartedly.

"Jade you should probably whisper, you might wake up that hot girl you took home last night" he teased.

"Shut the fuck up"  Jade growled.

"Woah" Sam chuckled slightly,  "What's gotten into you? Besides that blonde of course"

"Sam what did I just say?! I don't want to talk about it!" Jade half-shouted, jumping a little when a wave of pain shocked swept through her head.

"Alright, alright, you can tell me later. Anyway, the reason I'm calling you is that I'm at the café and they're looking for an extra worker this morning, Stacey called in sick. Tony asked me to see if you wanted to fill in, he said he'd give you double the pay since it's short notice" Sam explained.

Jade groaned in frustration. She was in agony with her hangover but she needed all the money she could get at the moment. She was struggling to pay for the bills, even with Sam paying rent too, and here was an opportunity for just that set out right in front of her. She didn't really have a choice. She would just have to work through her hangover. The pain would probably lessen through the course of the morning anyway.
