Under The Stars

This is a story of young love. One girl with heart disease and one healthy boy.

Elizabeth walked into her school and smiled to herself seeing her boyfriend of 9 months standing down the hall talking to his friends. Her smile grew when she saw him walking over to her pulling her into his arms kissing the crown of her head.

"Hello" Derick said holding his girlfriend in his arms smiling down at her beautiful face.

"Same time like always" Elizabeth said walking past Derick making him laugh and nod at her. School passed fast for both of them and soon it was 12 AM and they were both at the same place they met at the same time.

An old abandoned house. No one lived in it, it was creepy. But it was more interesting than scary to them. Right in the middle of the house was a huge willow tree. The moon light glowed upon it making it beautiful. There were blankets, pillows, and lanterns that made the old house glow a little. Vines growing on the walls making it more beautiful.

Derick and Elizabeth have taken care of the house because when they meet the willow tree was wilting and the house was ran down. So they took care of it.

"You know we can live here when we get older and get married" Derick said and Elizabeth smiled thinking their children running around the house sitting under the willow tree giggling. If they ever do move into the house they both are deciding to keep the magnificent willow and making the house into a beautiful home with plants everywhere and the big willow tree.

"We can watch our children run around chasing each other giggling" Elizabeth said making Derik smile at the thought of their children. He wants them to look exactly like Elizabeth. She wants them to look exactly like Derick. Derick is Elizabeth's star in this dark world. Elizabeth was always the quiet shy girl until Derick came and lit up her world.

"Come on, let's watch the stars" Elizabeth said pulling him to the blankets they had sprawled out under the tree. Elizabeth has heart disease but no one except her parents know. She doesn't want people treating her differently she doesn't know when she'll pass but nothing not even her disease is holding her back from living her life to the fullest.

Every night Derick and Elizabeth come out here to lay and watch the stars. They do everything together. Soon it was time to go and they both went home but not without sharing a soft kiss and exchanging I love you's.

That night Elizabeth went into cardiac arrest and died.

Months later Derick decided to go and visit her grave under the old willow tree.

"Hey Elizabeth. Today was good. I still miss you. I still don't understand why you didn't tell me. But it's ok. Because you're in a better place, and I'll see you again under the stars"
