As we walk into Sir Pickle Junior High (Iratxe says it's pronounced Pie-Kill), I see an array of students walking the halls. Some are very short, not more than 12, but then there is also students towering over me, needing to be at least 14 years of age. I turn around, trying to find the three girls I sat with on the bus, but they seemed to have abandoned me. I know I need to find my way around, but their is no way I can do so without some help. I spot a teacher down the hall, and start walking over to him. He turns around right as I walk up to him, and I explain that I am a new student in his class. He nods and guides me inside.

"My, come in. I didn't even know you were coming. Actually, no one knew. Registrations don't open until next month. And we don't accept students mid-year. Now can you tell me, Miss.Carley, why are you here?" The teacher asks me.

"How do you know me name?" I ask. "Who are you?"

"Does Mr.Lysohirka ring a bell?" He asks. I gasp. Mr.Lysohirka was my absolute favorite teacher in 3rd grade. He would bring us treats all the time, and he always made learning fun. When I transferred schools, I was so sad to leave him. But this was not my old school, this was a completely different place. I wonder why he was here now. I ask if he got fired, but he just laughs.

"No, no. Maloney Mail Elementary was burned down a few years ago. You didn't hear it in the news? It's alright, It doesn't matter anyways. All that matters now is that I call Caitlyn Gilley. After all, I think her plans to do away with you are fascinating." He tells me, with an evil smirk sneaking up he face. I soon realized what's happening. I again start bolting down the halls until I find an empty classroom. I stay there the rest of the day, being careful not to be spotted. As I hear the last bell ring, I hop out of the classroom and wait at the bus area for Iratxe, Angelica and Marianne. I look to my left and see all three of them, along with another girl.

¨Carley, this is Daphny."Angelica tells me. Daphny waves hello to me, smiling. I wave back, happy to meet new people.

¨It's nice to meet you, Carley!" Daphny tells me. ¨Marianne told me about your situation.

How awful! My mom is usually at work, and my dad lives out of town. So feel happy to stay with me. My mother won't mind." She says. I nod, and follow her to her bus. I also thank Iratxe, Marianne and Angelica for all of their help. And Daphny and I get on the bus for her house, We start talking. Turns out, we have much more in common than we thought.

¨Do you want to go to the park across the street? It has a brand new swing set I want to try out." Daphny asks.

¨Sure! I love swing sets. We have a whole playground in my backyard! It'll be nice to be somewhere that feels like home." I tell her. And with that, we set off towards park.

When we start walking to the playground, I can sense someone is following us. As I turn

around, I see a smaller, tinier version of Daphny. Daphny turns around too, following my gaze.

"Samantha, what are you doing here?" Daphny asks the little girl. "I told you to stay at

home. You know it's not safe to wander around by yourself. You are only 5 years old for pete's sake!" She tells Samantha. Samantha, like I said, it a smaller version of Daphny. One thing is very different though. Her eye is not real. Definetity a glass eye, I would say.

Daphny turns to me. "You are probably wondering about her eye. I know, it's kind of

scary." Samantha frowns at Daphny as she says this. "She was born without it. Try not to get too freaked out, she doesn't quite like it when people make fun of her." Daphny tells me. I nod, agreeing. Daphny and Samantha look at each other, smiling at each others faces.

Samantha ends up staying with us for the next 2 hours. We push her on the swing, play tag

in the park, and build sandcastles in the sand. I have so much fun, I completely forget about everything that has happened. Until I get a message on my phone, at least. It's from Lois, telling me to call her. I dial her number quickly, following her rules. When she answers , she in a panicky state.

"Carley? Are you there? No need to talk. Just listen. You need to get out of there NOW. You

are in really big danger. They could drive by at any moment! Take 52nd Street and then down Range Road #9. I'll be there. Hurry!" Lois says. I am about to ask her what she is talking about, but I don't have the chance. She hangs up, leaving me with a silent line.

"Daphny, Samantha? Thank you so much for the great time. I had a lot of fun. But I just

had a friend call me. I'll be going home now. Thank you so much for hiding me from my mother!" I tell them. They look at me, scared.

"It's not safe. Not safe. Please, stay!" Samantha tells me. I shake my head. I tell them

goodbye, then I am on my way. I notice I am close to where the airport is. Then I remember about Lois's dad's quad! I sprint to the airport, being fast on my feet. I there see the ravine that the quad was hidden in. And they it was! The quad! I cheer quietly with joy. As I pull it out of the ditch, I see that the keys are still there. My luck must be on my side today.

I start quading down 52nd Street, then down Range Road #9. There is almost no cars, since

it's the middle of the work day. Even though there is still a few cars, no one is suspicious enough to pull over and check me out. I end up getting to the spot where Lois told me to meet her. I hop off the quad and give her a big hug. We both start crying, which is ridiculous because I saw her 3 days ago in England. And if it wasn't for her, I would still be stuck in England, being kidnapped by my only sister. I don't know why, but that makes me cry even more.
