Lasting Scars

Have you ever felt so helpless in a situation, that you couldn't even find the space to feel? Have you ever felt enough pain that you wanted to scream as loud as you could?

That's exactly how Cha Min felt at that moment. When he'd sat down, he knew exactly who that woman was. That was his first, and only love. Han Chae Seol. Within moments of closing the door to his office, the hungover man was snapped back to reality - meaning the banging and throbbing headache had evacuated and it was replaced with a sudden regret and his eyes began to sting with unfamiliar salty tears. The pain of seeing her after all the time apart had cut his heart like a sword.

Had she been loved before, had she been able to quell the mutual love that had spawned from their first meeting? Only she could answer that. The ache in his heart was only solved when the desk was trashed and the tears flowed freely. Eliminating the subtly placed air of usual reverance. All of the people that sat in the office could hear the wracking sobs from the office door; yet no one dared to approach until one of the part timers that had a meeting with him did.

As wmsoon as the porcelain white door opened, the sobbing form of Cha Min could be seen at the window. It was at that moment everyone knew. Even the intern could figure out that his heart was aching, it felt like thousands upon thousands of knives had pierced the skin, trailing deeper and deeper into his physique.

Every peraon knows that if you fall in love and you lose them, it's like being disconnected from reality. It's like having a hot knife stabbed constantly into your chest. Heaving and hawing away at your heart until it gives.

Pain is the ultimate reminder of things that can, can't, and will happen. There are also two types of love; a painful love - which hurts. It aches, it sears, it feels like yours drowning and can't escape.

And a paind relief love - which soothes, makes you comfortable, and it feels like a layer of cotton wool has been wrapped around you. It feels like an impenetrable fortress that not even the best soldiers can get into.

Chae Seol wandered out of the restroom after having wiped her face down and reapplied the basic makeup that had been expertly swished upon her full cheeks, and plump pink lips. Taking a few steps, the heels made no sound upon the carpeted floor. Until she found the sound of her friend sobbing against the now wet glass. The sight was enough to bring her dainty hand up to cover her mouth in a shocked expanse of action.

Everything went silent as she stepped into the office as well, the hand that was covering her mouth slid away and began to move through the air to soon rest on the males shoulder. He didn't pull away, nor did he make any response that could've been shown appear. A tired, broken visage soon turned back and their eyes met. The feelings that had been kept secret for years broke through, and the two people embraced in an emotional hug. One that didn't need words, or actions, or anything.

The beating of their hearts synced up in a steady rhythm as the embrace went on. Broken only by the sound of a phone making an unfamiliar tone; and with that noise came the only question that could be mustered at that point of the reunion.

It danced across Cha Min's tongue, into the ears of everyone in that vicinity. The tone was soft and apologetic.

"Chae Seol, is it really you?"

The lady in question nodded with a soft half smile. Her eyes returned to the soft state they usually wore when not in this type of situation. The long, cherry red hair swished as her head moved, soon facing him. Their eyes met and a longing stare ensued, followed by some soft words of comfort.

"It's me. I'm here now, Min Min."

[Gah! I wrote this while listening to sad music... I shouldn't do it because it hurts my heart when I do that. Anyway, It's an emotional reunion. Tell me how I did. Was it good? Was it bad? Tell me what I can do to make it better!]
