Friends...

Chapter 3

Liya's P.O.V
"Okay class what you're going to be doing today is learn new things about your partner. The reason I didn't let you choose your partner is because you would probably choose a friend that you already know very well so that defeats the purpose of this project. So this will be a fun experience for you and I. Also this will be due on Thursday. Some of you maybe wondering why are we doing a biography in algebra and I have an answer it's because....I don't know I don't make the rules here. But go, spread out and some may go into the hallway." says Mr. Parker.

"Well have fun, I'll talk to you later" Alaya says walking off to her partner.

"Hey Liya, do you want to go into the hallway?" says Grayson.

I turn around and say, "sure"

I grab my pencil and notebook and we enter into the hallway. We sit down on the ground and we just sit in silence. Then the silence was broken.

"Soo when were you born?" Grayson asks.

"January 24, 1999" I respond.

Grayson starts writing it down.

"How about you, when we're you born?" I ask.

"December 16, 1999" Grayson responds.

I start writing it down.

"Do have any siblings?" he asks.

"Yeah, I have an older brother named Alex" I say.

"I have a question" I say to Grayson.

"What's your question?" Grayson says with eyes looking up from his paper.

"Am I allowed to ask deep questions or just boring basic questions?" I ask.

"You can ask any kind of question you like and I'll answer it honestly" Grayson responds

"Okay so, what is your perception on life? Since people have different opinions I want to hear yours" I say to Grayson.

"Well...I think life is a wonderful place that can be flipped around and upside down. Life is a journey that some people prefer to take alone but in actuality you need others to help guide you. I think the people you surround yourself with is a good way to structure life, if you have good and positive people near you then your life will be good. Life is a roller coaster that has many unexpected things. People, people are afraid of roller coasters which is similar to saying people are afraid to life. Some people are afraid to grow up and live life" says Grayson.

"Wow that was.....amazing" I say shocked.

"Thanks" Grayson says with a laugh.

"Now my turn" says Grayson.

"Okay I'm ready" I say.

"Are you afraid of growing up?" Grayson asks looking into my eyes.

"Yes and no. I'm excited for my future but I'm scared that I'm going to fail. Yes I know failure is good but I don't like failure. I'm afraid that I'm not going to be stable. I'm afraid of college because I feel like it's so much pressure on me. I'm afraid that the friends I have now won't be there in the future. I'm also excited to know the great successes I'll have if I ever do completed my goals. But I don't know" I say looking back up into Grayson's eyes because my eyes were looking at the ground the whole time.

"Wow that was interesting" says Grayson shocked.

"Okay class time to pack up because the bell is going to ring" says Mr. Parker.

We start heading back into the classroom and I go back to my desk. I put everything away and I look at Alaya. She comes to me and whispers in my ear.
