"Maybellene!" I shouted down the stairs.
I couldn't find my satchel and I was pretty sure my best friend had it.
I sighed.
"Maybellene!" I shouted again.
I rolled my eyes as I saw my best friend run up the stairs.
She rose her eyebrows at me as if to say 'what is it'.
"Where's my satchel? I left it in my study yesterday, and it's not there" I explained.
She sighed and looked at the floor, then rubbed her forehead.
"Have you seen it?" I asked her, hoping there would be some place she last saw it.
"Tates, you need rest" she said.
I rolled my eyes at her again.
"May I need my satchel ba-" but she cut me off.
"Look at yourself. Such a beauty, yes, but look at those eye bags and that hair!" she said pointing out my flaws.
"You look like a zombie!" she screeched.
I rolled my eyes at her being too over-dramatic about my appearance.
She glared at me.
"You dare roll those eyes at me young lady" she said in a gruff voice.
For once, I thought she was going mental. The second time, I thought, well no, she had already gone mental.
"You have a great job, yes" she sighed.
"But I cannot and will not have my best friend looking like a damn zombie who just walked out of an apocalypse" she said.
"May-" I started but she cut me off instantly.
"You're a lawyer Taylor" she said obviously.
"A lawyer for family!" I sighed at that.
Finally deciding I had to get a look at myself, I glided to my mirror and almost let out a scream.
I looked horrible.
My long brunette hair was up high in a bun and I had strands of hair sticking out. My eyes looked like the ones of a nun's from a scary movie. And my natural tan seemed to have hidden from me. I even looked like I hadn't eaten in a week or so.
Goodness I looked like a zombie.
One that is a little head over heels for her job. Maybe more? I don't know.
"I wonder how families would've taken in my appearance" I muttered under my breath, clearly overthinking things to the point where they would think I was just some hired criminal trying to mess with their lives.
Oh puddle pie, the thought made me cringe.
"Told ya" Maybellene said patting my shoulders.
With a smirk on her face she knelt before her bed and pulled out my beloved satchel.I squealed in excitement once I saw it.
She had on a serious face, and I knew what she was up to.
"We go shopping, we go on our girl date, and then you get your love back" she said in a monotonous voice.
I laughed at how demanding her face looked.
I raised my eyebrows at her thinking she was joking, but she didn't budge on it so I groaned, tilted my head back and muttered a 'fine'.
I swear I saw rainbows and butterflies bust out over her head when she did some weird ostrich dance.
There youuuu gooooooooooo!
