Letters (Tsukishima Kei X Yamaguchi Tadashi)

Chapter 1: Surprises are key

Yamaguchi takes off his shoes and opens his shoe cabinet. An envelope stares back at him from the little cubbyhole. An envelope with a heart sticker as a seal. Yamaguchi finds himself blushing, hard. He quickly slips the letter into his bag and puts his shoes neatly in the cabinet. Class is going to start in 5 minues, he would not be late for the first day of his second year. He walks into the classroom, glad to find familiar faces. He spots his friend at the seat by the window and walks over, claiming the seat in front of him.

"Hi Tsukki!" Tsukishima looks up from his book "Oh, it's only you Yamaguchi. Morning." He goes back to his book-reading after a short greeting. The teacher walks in as soon as Yamaguchi settles down. Class starts.

Lessons are a breeze as usual for Yamaguchi. He likes studying but he still wishes that lunch break would come sooner. He really wants to read the letter. When the lunch bell finally rings, Yamaguchi finds himself heaving a sigh of relief. "Let's go Tsukki!"

Lunch with Tsukishima was always on the rooftop. Today is no different. Yamaguchi stands near the fence, reading the letter out loud to his bestfriend.

"To Yamaguchi Tadashi-sama,
   I know I may sound a little long-winded but I spent a long time on this letter. 😊 I've been watching you Yamaguchi-sama, I don't mean to sound creepy but you really stand out. I like your freckles, your nice personality, your dedication in volleyball, your green hair, literally everything. 😆 I like you. I won't expect you to like me back, much less know who I am.😅 Just treat this as an encouragement letter💪 because I'm not that brave to confess face-to-face just yet.🙆 Just remember about your secret admirer!  😉 Gambatte! 💛💚💙💜💕"

"Isn't this sweet Tsukki?" Yamaguchi feels his face heat up from reading the cute letter. Instead of the snarky comments that Tsukishima would usually make on issues like this, he stays silent, staring at the letter with something dancing in his eyes. "Tsukki?" "Oh yeah. Cool." Yamaguchi widens his eyes in surprise. Tsukishima had never been like this before the whole time Yamaguchi had known him, which is 1...2...3...4...5...more than 5 years. "Are you ok Tsukki? Did you fall sick?" Yamaguchi places his hand on Tsukishima's forehead. "Go away Yamaguchi." "Gomen Tsukki." They settle down to eat, Yamaguchi glad that his friend is fine.
