I rode up to the curb outside of the skatepark and sat down waiting for Melissa. Well looks I get to keep her board. I pulled my board up onto the grass and laid down. I started looking for shapes in the clouds when Melissa pulled up next to me out of breath.
"Well, you beat me."
State the obvious right. I think I'll let her keep her board. I know I would be so mad if I had to give up my only one.
"yup."I stated simply as I sat up.
She picked up her board and sat next to me her hair bouncing. I wonder how she gets her hair to poof like that.
"Hey. I don't have alot of time. My mom texted me and said she's picking me up in like an hour or two."She said and got up to walk over to the ramp.
"Okay. That's fine."I got up as well and ran over to a bench to put my bag down. Then I walked to the ramp and started doing the normal stuff. She just sat there and watched looking like she was thinking. I wonder what's on her mind. I know I just met her, but I think me and her could be good friends. So far we have a bit in common. The next hour went by really fast and she said she had to leave. She walked away and headed to the school. I walked over to the bench and grabbed my water bottle barely noticing that there was a bystander a few trees down. He stood up straight from his leaning position on the tree and started walking towards me. I sat down on the bench wondering where I knew him from.
"Hey. I was noticing you have skills."
I looked up and automatically remembered who he was. He was that guy I saw in the hall before me and Melissa left. Was he following me?
"Uh ya thanks."
This is just the slightest but awkward. He leaned his board against the bench and sat down next to me.
"Has anyone told you about me yet?"He asked looking bored.
"Nope. I don't even know your name."that seemed like a simple enough answer.
"Interesting. Most would tell you to stay away from me, I'm bad news, I run the school, and I'm trouble everywhere I go."well that's a great way to introduce yourself.
"Oh really. Well if you went to Florida, most would say I'm a tomboy, I'm trouble, and be careful around me. Looks like our reputations are pretty similar."I said looking up with a blank expression on my face. I'm hard to read and I like it that way. Being easy to read leads you to being pretty much an open book.
"I would agree with that and my name is Asher by the way."Never heard that one before. Well once before. And I can't say much because my name isn't the most popular.
"oh cool. You already know my name."i said quietly.
"Yup. It's definitely not a name I've heard. But it's nice I like it."He smiled and looked over to me. I heard a phone ring and then he grabbed his phone from his pocket.
"Hold on I gotta take this."he said as he walked away. He was just barely in hearing distance.
"hey...no I don't have it...calm down...I'll have it tomorrow...where do you want to meet...why the alley...ok fine...at 10...I'm at the skatepark...ya ill pick him up here...ok...bye."
He walked over to me and sat down.
"I gotta go..i need to finish unpacking..sorry."I said kind of awkwardly.
"Ok fine, but meet me here tomorrow morning."and without letting me answer, he got in his car and drove off.
Well I guess I'm meeting him here tomorrow, but still what is he supposed to have? And what alley? I guess if I want to know what's going on I'll have to come here around like 9 and follow him. I'll take Gabriella's car.
