let's say you find a random face somewhere on the internet like tumblr or weheartit or maybe even instagram (probably not here because they'll have their username, but you never know) and you have absolutely no idea who they are. they could be the perfect face for your book and the fact you can't recognize them is probably a good sign that they're pretty obscure. this is where this chapter comes to play.
in this d-i-y you'll be learning how to identify some of the random faces you'll find and need help to identify. disclaimer: this doesn't always work. it may work for some faces and then not for another. it honestly just depends, but it may work or lead you to find another face you may like.
i just found the picture below while scrolling through my weheartit feed and you may find a photo like this anywhere, but thats just where i found this one. i have absolutely no idea who this guy is.
when i tried the celebrity look-a-like website it came up with results that didn't match so that was a dead end, but there's an answer in the place you'd least expect. google. ah, yes google. it has the answer to almost anything we need and it has the answers to the questionable male above. who is he?
here i'll be using https://images.google.com/ . it's a tool i use a lot for fun and for face claims and i even play a game with it which i'll talk about in another chapter, but here we'll be using the "search by image" tool.
open the website and you should see a page like the one below. there are a few options for you to pick from. one, you can drag the image you're looking for onto the page towards the little camera; two, click the camera icon and upload your photo; or three, paste the photos url. i put the little camera you need to either drag your photo to or click to upload the photo or paste the url.
below is what the search results of a photo when it works. it clearly tells you who you're looking at and apparently, this guy is christopher mccrory. apparently, he's instagram famous, but i don't have an instagram so i didn't know. don't judge.
