(TRIGGER WARNING : ABUSE/BULLING)
(ATHENAS POV)
"CAN YOU SHUT UP FOR ONCE IN YOUR LIFE?!" I scream, torture lacing my every word. I get pulled away from my nightmare-ish thoughts when Danica taps my shoulder, drawing me back into reality. I open my eyes and look around the room, everyone stares at me for a second then begin laughing. I get up to leave when I hear a voice come from the back of the class, it belongs to Ava, my 'best friend', someone who I thought I could trust, someone who knows all of my darkest secrets. "PSYCHO!"
I heard an unfamiliar voice "FREAK!"
"SHUT UP!" I fire back. The same voice belonging to Ava screams the three words I have been pondering about for weeks on end, "GO KILL YOURSELF!" I freeze mid-step and walk to her table and lean down to the side of her cheek, whispering in her ear "Maybe I will" and walk out of the classroom not turning back to face the shithole that I used to call my school. I try to hold up the flood gates behind my eyes but fail as I feel tears stream down my cheeks in single file one after the other, they keep coming until I give up and let them flow freely. After a couple of minutes of running I reach my house, and yes I said house not home, this place is nothing more than an old building to me. I walk up the cracked cement steps to my front porch and hesitantly push open the door and step inside. I try to be as silent as I can walking through the house but as I reach the top of the stairs the floorboards creek alerting my father that I was here.
"Athena! is that you?" he storms out of his room, walking to me. he picks me up by my throat, pressing me against the wall.
I struggle against his hold. "Stop moving, slut!" he spits, tightening his grip around my throat.
"Stop" I yell desperately.
"And why would I do that?"
"B-because you-ou l-ove me-me?" I choke out sarcastically.
"Why would I love someone as disgusting as you!" he yells, venom dripping off of his words.
"I guess your right there, father" I say, feeling weaker and weaker.
"THATS IT!" was the last thing I heard him say to me before I blacked out.
