I wake up to another text from Sam asking me to come over. I tell Carter I'm heading out, but I don't tell him where. I told him he could take the other car in the garage if he wanted to go anywhere, but I had clearly forgotten the fact that he's a vampire and he doesn't really have use for a vehicle. It would probably slow him down, in all honesty.
It's been a month since Carter first stayed over. I'm used to his presence in the house, I even welcome it. It's nice to wake up and have someone there just a few footsteps away. Also during the past month, Sam and I have been getting closer and I honestly would think he's my boyfriend now. We've kissed and talked for hours and hours but it all feels like a strange case of deja vu. Ever since Carter showed up, I've just been having these strange feelings like I'm following in the same footsteps everyday, like I'm doing the same things over again.
I finally arrive at Sam's house and he greets me.
"Hey," He says in a low voice and kisses me on the lips.
"Hi," I say, kissing him back.
But it wasn't just a kiss. It was deeper than that and next thing I know, we're on the couch and we never took our lips off of each other's. Our bodies were melted together, and I was breathing him in and he smelled like boy and woods. He has woods in his backyard so that explains that.
"Are you sure you-,"
"Yes." I cut him off. I'm probably going to regret this, but what's life if you don't make a mistake or two. I deserve this. Someone who cares for me and wants to take our relationship to the next level. I want this. With Sam. And we do. And I would be lying if I said it wasn't pure happiness all in one day.
I have found my happiness. And I never want to let it go.
