Jinyoung and Mark find themselves in front of a frat house on a quiet Saturday night. Mark was invited and could bring a plus one, his plus one being Jinyoung of course. This was also considered an "I'm Sorry" gift for Mark so heartlessly switching roommates, but Jinyoung wasn't mad. He always wondered what it was like to room by himself at college.
The two of them push their way through the multitude of people grinding on whatever and whoever they can find. It's seemingly difficult, seeing as though the whole dorm decided to show up. The beat of the music is nice, loud but not deafening. The lights aren't flashy and it's warm where they are. Soon they are dancing and swaying their hips unashamed, laughing and drinking what's in their cups.
(They aren't really looking for roommates or company, most people at this party are. Jinyoung is helping Mark move out this Sunday and Mark's roommate – oh, there's Jackson. And Mark's now gone, leaving Jinyoung in the dust for his new roomie.)
If Jinyoung was good at anything, it was drinking.
He knows that sounds bad, but he's already had few drinks in and he isn't feeling inebriated. These college "mixers" that the local frat house hosts are child's play to him. This is the fourth one he's been to since he's been at this university, and usually, one is supposed to make friends and maybe find a roommate for their dorm but that rarely happens. Students are here for nothing but the free drinks. (Plus, no one here checks IDs, which might be dangerous, but you know, college.)
Actually, he's been eyeing this cutie from across the frat house and he's, well, really cute. From what Jinyoung could tell, the cutie (who, by the way, was giggling and showing all teeth) had alcohol hooded lids and was talking to someone with bright yellow hair. He was lanky and tall and was talking with his hands.
But the cutie, on the other hand, he caught Jinyoung's eye faster than the bright yellow hair. He wasn't anything flashy but boy, was he fine. His hair was a dark and wavy mop and his head, a look most people couldn't pull off, but it somehow seemed to work for him. The round rim glasses that adorned his face made his features soft, even though his eyebrows were sharp and anyone could see from a mile away that his jaw-line was nothing to play with. And his smile, showing a full set of blinding teeth and crescent moons for eyes, could make Jinyoung drunker than three bottles of tequila.
Jinyoung hadn't felt his feet move, but before he could stop himself he was already almost near the boy. He was close enough that he could hear the tall one laughing and calling the cutie 'Jaebum'.
Jaebum.
Jinyoung swears he'd seen or heard that name somewhere recently. Maybe it was just the alcohol just messing with his mind. Maybe it was just a common name. Nonetheless, the name left an anxious pit in his stomach, not from fear but from excitement. Or maybe it was fear, or the drinks trying to riot in his belly. Whichever one it was, he made his way over to the raven-haired and his friend.
(As he got even closer, he heard Jaebum say the name of the yellow-haired one. Yoogie? Yugee? Yugy?)
"And then after Jackson left, B-" Yugy, Jinyoung decided, said. He must have sensed Jinyoung's presence because he stopped mid-sentence and turned to look at him. "Oh, hi?"
(For a brief moment, Jinyoung thought if the tall boy was talking about Mark's roommate Jackson, the hyperactive guy he was introduced about a week ago.
"Hi! Nice to meet you, I'm Jackson Wang." Jackson smiled a huge smile, making Jinyoung smirk himself. This guy's smile was seriously infectious. He took the hand that was offered to him but was not expecting to be pulled into a very tight hug.
