I looked up to see a disgusted snarl on Olivia Morgan's face.
"What are you doing with that skank!" She screamed at him slightly hysterically.
I could see the windows of the sixth form block quickly crowd with faces, all fighting for a glimpse at the unfortunate target of Olivia's wrath.
"Shut the fuck up, Liv." Rhys called back as he grabbed my hand and pulled me towards the melee.
"I SAID... WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING WITH HER!" She was somewhere between a breakdown and a tantrum. He pushed her to one side as we walked through the door. I slipped my hand out of his before the mounting audience had anything else to gossip about.
"Just give her a break" He spoke quietly so the eaves dropping crowd weren't privy to their conversation. "She's upset, leave her alone."
"Oh well that explains it then" She announced to the room. "There had to be a reason why you'd be hanging around a charity case, freak like her." I grabbed my stuff out of my locker, busying myself so I wouldn't see the smug look I knew would be plastered across her face.
As I was darting out the door I could still hear Olivia and Rhys arguing. I didn't look back instead I raced to class, there were only four people already there. Two boys from my physics class were sat at the back, two rows in front of them was Martin Keogh, a quiet kid with a brain like a computer. Then on the front row was Joanne Anderson, I decided to sit next to Martin as I figured there'd be less chance of the teacher moving me if I was already sat next to a member of the opposite sex.
"Hi Martin, is it okay if I sit here?" I asked politely and smiled brightly at him.
"Yeah sure" He couldn't hide completely his surprise.
The others arrived in dribs and drabs, slowly filling the vacant seats. Just before the bell rang Rhys rushed into the room, I busied myself rooting in my bag for my equipment trying my best to ignore him as he scanned the room deciding where to sit.
"Hey Martin, do you mind?" And Rhys moved his head in the direction of an empty chair on the other side of the class. Martin sighed but grabbed his stuff and started to move, I grabbed his arm, stopping him in his tracks
"He was here first, but I'll move if you want to sit here I don't mind." I offered
"Martin ignore her, just move will you." With that Rhys put his bag on the desk and Martin relocated to the other desk.
The teacher bustled in and dropped the armful of books he was carrying onto his desk. Mr Norman was my favourite tutor, he was funny, young, enthusiastic and very good looking. He'd joined the school last year in the September after he graduated, he looked like a blonde Zac Effron just not as well dressed.
"Nice try by the way, oh and stop drooling." Rhys whispered into my ear, I felt my face flush.
"I don't know what you're talking about." I hissed back at him
"Yeah, yeah, whatever." His smug, yet disinterested tone really annoyed me. I was deciding whether to kick him under the table or stab him with my pen when I noticed the ever lovely Mr Norman heading my way.
"Close your mouth you're slobbering on the desk." Putting his hand under my chin to wipe away the drool.
"Get off" I snarled as I knocked his hand away.
"Hi Anna, it's good to see you back" Mr Norman said sincerely. Then turning his attention to Rhys he added
"I'm sure Mr Johnson here will be only too willing to help out if you need to catch up on anything from the end of last year." His already gorgeous eyes twinkled with amusement.
