-Avery-
I didn't see Isabella after that moment on the stairs because of assembly so we missed both the only classes we had with eachother, Biology and English.
To be honest, I was relieved. I don't think I had enough man-power to face her again and in that state too. But she had been stuck in my head ever since, I couldn't help but wonder how she was coping up with this whole thing.
School was now finished and I could use a good hour rest however the day wasn't over for me. Not just yet. I still had bloody detention to go to. Damn you Mr Peters.
I sluggishly made my to his class. My head hung low, my hands shoved into the pockets of my blazer and my back hunched. I was in no hurry at all and I was in no desire to look pleasant for this - a wasted hour.
"What a delight to see you again, Mr Reid." Mr Peters ecstatically announced. He clapped his hands together which only caused me to roll my eyes.
"I can say the same to you too, sir." I japed taking my seat at the very back.
Mr Peters wasn't a bad teacher but he was just too happy all the time and sure optimism is a good thing but he's in school (although he is teaching in it), no one is ever happy in school. No one.
Mr Peters scratched his bolding head as he stacked his textbook in parallel bundles. The man was too much of a perfectionist. Not only was his class symmetrical to every detail, the colours were distributed in accordance to its tone. So at my end of the class the colours were much lighter than his side. The man was giving himself more work - no wonder why he's bolding.
Once I was done pondering about Mr Peter's hair condition, I tossed my head back and closed my eyes. I could do some sleep at least before he finished up and make me do actual work.
I stretched my arms and let out an audible yawn. I was surprised that Mr Peters didn't tell me to sit up properly.
After 10 minutes of silence I heard a knock on the door and light footsteps entering the room. I didn't bother opening my eyes to see who it was.
"Young lady. It's a surprise to see you here... and late as well. My my." Mr Peters tutted at the girl who had just entered. The footsteps were now very audible.
"Sorry, I'm late." A voice I knew too well said. I sat up and opened my eyes only to find blue ones looking straight back at me. "I didn't want to come in the first place." She whispered as she sat 2 seats to the right from me. I smirked at her retort. It was quick and unusual coming from her mouth.
When she got settled down, I found it hard to take my eyes off of her. She looked really different: her hair which was usually down was now up in a ponytail, a red ribbon tying her hair up; her school clothes, the ones that I saw her wear on the stairs, were now changed into a cheerleading outfit and for some reason her aura was unfamiliar - a hint of mischief.
Don't judge me, I'm not a conservative just observant.
I was perplexed and amazed at the same time. The person sitting across from me didn't seem like Isabella at all, more like a polar opposite twin.
My gaze fell on the school badge that was situated on the middle of her top (it was of a Phoenix). I earned an unimpressed look from Bella. I quickly diverted my eyes somewhere else realising what it may have looked like I was staring at. That was awkward, Avery.
The new material fused a lot of questions in my head. Was she part of the cheerleading team now? I did see Margaret's bandages during first period so she must be substituting for her then. But why would she take her place? I knew she wasn't too fond of cheerleading so why would she start now?
