*Bokuto's POV*
We went to the beach. It was the main beach where most people headed off to. Crowded, noisy and hyped. It got my energy level up too. I ran towards the ice cream bar to get Keiji and myself a cone. But Keiji went missing the next moment I turned around. I ended up only buying one ice cream while trying to look for Keiji among the sea of heads. I called him, hoping that he had brought his phone along. He picked up after 2 rings."Keiijjiiii, where are you?" The background on the other end was quiet. I could only hear the sound of the waves.
"I'm at someplace quieter. If I am not wrong, from where you left me, face the ice cream truck and turn to your left. Walk until you reach an enormous sand dune. Cross over to the other side of the blockage and just walk further up. I will be at the rocks. Bye. Hope you can find your way, Bokuto-san."
"Beep." the call ended. I tried my best to follow Keiji's instructions. I was not very good with directions. It took me a long time to find my way.
I finally found Keiji. I could see him from afar as I went over the dune. He was sitting by the rocks as he had said. His hair, swayed in the wind. Wearing only a simple dark t-shirt and camouflage bermudas, Keiji contrasted with the setting Sun. I took a quick photo then hurried over to get a better view of the sunset.
"Keiji-" I wanted to greet him and show how much he had underestimated me. But Keiji sat with his eyes closed, face relaxed. I did not want to disturb him so I settled beside him, watching the golden Sun set in this peaceful place.
*Keiji's POV*
I heard shuffling behind me, a "Keiji-", then something plopping down beside me. I had a huge feeling it was Bokuto-san. It took him long enough to get here. I liked this place by the rocks. The racket at the main beach was now just soft distant noises, drowned out by the lapping of the waves against the sandy shore. My eyelids fluttered open and I was instanly blinded by the strong glow from the sun. The sky was now dyed orange-pink, clouds in wisps like cotton candy. The rough sea breeze contrasted the gentle tranquil image of the dying Sun. I sat there, beside an oddly silent Bokuto-san, appreciating the special view in this tranquil environment that one seldom had time to enjoy. Bokuto-san lay his head on my shoulders. I did not shrug him away liked the old me would have done, over the months, I had gotten used to a touchy-feely Bokuto-san.As the last embers faded from our view, I could hear Bokuto-san's tummy start to rumble. "Hungry?" Bokuto-san looked up at me with his clear golden eyes then nodded. "Let's go Bokuto-san, where is that dining place you told me about?" Bokuto-san showed me the address and we hurried our way. I was famished, not that I would ever admit it.
We reached the place. It was a quite decent-looking italian bar. We chose some pizza and cocktail from the menu, after settling down at a small two sitter table. We ate our dinner, I listening to the soothing jazz music playing in the background and Bokuto-san ravaging his pizza.
We headed back to the rocks, now armed with torchlights. The sky above the open sea near black. Small stars twinkled in the sky above us. Bokuto-san enthusiastically pointed out the Big dipper, Little dipper and the Polaris star. I knew nothing about stars, so this was good information. We spent hours sitting there enjoying the company of our new friends high up in the night sky.
Maybe we were too tired or something, we ended up sharing a bed. I woke up to being squashed by the bulky Bokuto-san. I pushed him away and sat up. It was 8am. I headed down for morning jog to freshen myself up, I never believed in caffeine.
I found Kuroo-senpai at the lobby, sipping a cup of coffee while reading the morning newspaper. "Kuroo-senpai, ohayo gozaimasu." I went upfront and greeted him.
"Ah, Keiji. Fancy meeting you here. Are you and Bo here for the masquerade party too?" I gave a nod.
"See you later then." Upon seeing Bokuto-san shuffle out from the lift, Kuroo-senpai stood up and headed towards him. They went away, Kuroo whispering to Bokuto-san, laughing. I got out for my long due morning run, wondering what Bokuto-san had gotten for his costume.
