"SIR, THE ENGINE HAS MALFUNCTIONED, WE'RE SITTING DUCKS!"
"HULL DAMAGE CRITICAL!!"
"ENEMY TORPEDEOS INBOUND!!"
"THE TORPEDOES WILL BLOW UP THE SHIP!!!"
"ABANDON SHIP!!"
"JUMP, JUMP!!"
"NOOOO!!!!!!!" "HELP ME!!!!!"
"Ah, AHHH, AHHHH, AHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!""NO!" I woke up, breathing heavily and quickly, I look around my room, and out the window, it was a sunny day; I sigh.
"Just a nightmare." I told to myself. "God, can't all this crap just go away."
I went to take a shower, then I ate breakfast.
I then walk over to pickup my suitcase, then I exit the apartment.
I walk over to my car, and then I noticed I was running late. I was supposed to be at the base at 9AM and it was already 9:30AM.
I rushed to the car, and drive to the base.
I look over at my watch, 9:47AM.
"Ahhh no, i've never been late to any of my trainings, how did this slip?" I asked myself.
I stepped on the gas, the engine roared to life, I felt like I was racing, passing cars as if they weren't moving.
I looked at the speedometer, I was doing 107 mph down the highway.
I arrived just before 10 a'clock.
I ran down to the port where I saw Jackson, waiting with an angry expression on his face.
"Where the hell were you?" he said, "You needed to be here at 0900 (9:00AM) on the dot, and look at what time you arrive!"
"I know, know, I...overslept." I said.
"Overslept?!" he sighed.
"Whatever get on the ship, your crew is waiting for you." Said Jackson.
I begin walking towards the ship, when I get pulled by my shirt.
"If this happens again, we'll be looking for a new captain, got it?" Said Jackson with an angry tone.
I nod.
I get on the USS Montana and walk to the bridge.
"Captain on the bridge." The crew saluted at me.
"At ease." I said.
"So, Captain Evan, how does it feel to be commanding one of the largest battleships of the 1950's?" Said Jess, the ship's gunner.
"It feels good, I guess" I said.
The rest of the crew was James, the "driver" of the ship, Jay, the spotter and finally myself, the captain of the ship.
"Are the engines on?" I asked James.
"No sir." He said.
"Well fire the engines." I said.
"Yes sir" He said.
I heard the engines slowly fire up.
"Right, lets set sail." I said.
"Yes sir" Said the crew.
The ship departed from port and thus we sailed to the open ocean.40 minuets later
"Sir we are in position to begin target practice."
Said James.
"Very well, engine, half speed, set course 225" I said
"Engine half, adjusting course to 225" Said James.
We were cruising at a steady 6.7 knots.
Aim all turrents to 100 at 20 height.
"All turrents 100, height 20" Said Jess.
I hear the whirring of the turrent mechanism and see the giant turrents aim to the direction.
"FIRE" I said.
Immediately after I said that I see hear a loud bang and see the turrents shoot the shells towards a dummy ship.
"Target ship hit" Said Jay.
"Reloading" Said Jess.
We continued to practice shooting at dummy ships, it went well, better than I expected.2 hours later.
"That concludes target practice for Today." Said Jess.
"Lets head back to port then" I said.
After arriving at the port I disembarked the ship.
Then I walked towards the parking lot where I left my car, I get on the car and drive home.Once I arrived home and looked at my watch, 10:34PM.
"Wow, I didn't think it was so late." I thought to myself.
I ate dinner, took a shower and then went to bed.
"Hopefully tomorrow can go smoother than Today." I said.
I close my eyes and wait for sleep to take over.
