Much Love, Gaby

" How stupid do you think I am?"

Pretty damn stupid.  That wouldn't do though, I was trying to get out of here not annihalate myself and my siblings.

My brother  Kan got to her first, " Who else would hold beings they can't understand in a prison and not give them any water, honey?"

He sneered at the confusion on her face, big bambi eyes all aglow.

He brought his cold hand to her warm face and gave it a stroke, "Too pretty to be smart"

Bitch

It was her turn to smirk in fear, " My name's I 'melda not Honey, demon"

" And my name's Kas but you don't think about that, do you Homo Sapien?"

It was my turn to step in before Kas and his fat mouth spoiled my entire plan, convince, open, escape.

" They point being, we need water and if we don't have some soon, we'll die. I don't think you want that any more than we do, what we can't do He can."

I'melda was quavering in fear, ridiculous. god wasn't that scary, though He had made us.

"Water, water" I heard her muttering to herself as she looked around the room.

She asked her fellow guards for water, she asked some of the strange children outside for water, the ones with the empty, soulless eyes.

Did they look like us?

She really was running around, terrified of us.

My brothers and sisters were snickering and giggling at her distress, this was the time we all woke up, ready to go.  Kas and Florindi looked to me.

" Was this your plan Spencen ?" This was the first time I had ever heard Florindi's physical voice. It was cool and vibrant, like the color purple. In my dreams her weeping had joined the rest of ours, heavy and damp. We were desperate to be free.

We were waking up. Of course I had been up for months, watching I'melda and her cousins, pawns of god.

Kas had wakened a week ago.

The youngest, Lana had woken up yesterday. She was tiny, no more than eleven. Her skin was no lighter than mine. but it was so white it was this light blue in the sunlight. Noone besides me had this side of her skin. Her eyes would only meet mine.

Florindi kicked me. " Pay attention!" she hissed.

" Yes, it was my plan, do you think Kas came up with it?"

We had to be silent now I'melda was coming. She only knew Kas and I were even conscious.

" Here, here's the water it's fresh too" Her bright smile  aimed  only at me, sent a pang through my heart. Kas noticed and elbowed me in the gut.

"Thank you" Sorry I have to kill you.

She slowly unlatched the right wall of the cage, I could feel the magic draining off. I sighed I felt free, stretching my neck. The minute it was fully removed I took a fistful of her caramel hair and pulled her up against the outside of the cage.

My siblings cheered.
