Chapter 2

"To Josephine". It was addressed to me. I couldn't be found emotionally comprised in front of the civilians. So I ran from the hall to my office with Marie.

The Oval office has a secret chamber. Only Presidents of different sectors are allowed inside the room. The chamber is pitching black with no lights. It only lights up in the presence of two or more presidents. Till date only Sector: 13 have made contact with us. But since it is only of senior citizens their development is weak. So they don't have an acting president.

The chamber is completely hidden, completely spy-proof. No one outside the room can know what is happening inside. It was designed in such a way that highly confidential matters could be discussed. Well I have been selfish in that way. All I have used it for is a room to cry in, so that no one knows that their leader is emotionally imbalanced.

The chamber knows all my stories, all my secrets. It has heard me cry, felt my tears for 20 years. So I ran into the chamber but this time with Marie. Naturally, the chamber didn't light up even now. I sat there crying with 'Time Ends' in my hand and Marie next to me. Twenty years of separation was overwhelming. And the first sign of his existence came through a book.

This means a lot. There is another sector somewhere close. My dad, he is out there with him.

I don't think anyone must have read this book. The civilians never had time to read any. And the City Library was open only 5 days ago. This was the first and the only copy of this book. Marie confirmed it to me because she is the library in charge. I knew Sector: 2 haven't read it but some other sector may have. And this sector must have been far more developed than ours or else we wouldn't have received this book through space package. Maybe....maybe this was sent by him personally to me. Maybe it was some kind of a message....

I sat there in the chamber with Marie. She hadn't spoken a word. We sat there for what seemed like hours until I completely calmed down and came up with the courage to read 'Time Ends'.
