2 hours passed and Matt and Brian decided to leave so they could pack and prepare to leave town. Brian said he would pick me up at six for dinner. He said he already knew where we were going to eat. I was a bit skeptical considering the fact that he didn’t know his way around the town.

It was 2 in the afternoon when I finally realized the flaw in Brian’s plans for dinner with me. I was being watched over by an officer, and I sure as hell was not taking a third wheel on my date with Brian. I decided to call Brian and explain the situation. We decided that he would come back to my house for dinner and I would cook. I then proceeded to tell Scar that she needed to find somewhere to go for a couple hours.  She decided to see a movie with her brother, Alex.

When Brian knocked on my door, the table was already set and I was stirring the alfredo sauce. I opened the door and Brian stood there, flowers in hand.

“You are so cheesy, Jesus Christ.” I told him.

“Yeah, I know. Just take the flowers” He replied, handing me the assortment of daisies and tulips. I laughed and took them out of his hands.

“I hope you like alfredo sauce because I’m out of spaghetti sauce so, I had to compromise” I explained.

“That sounds great” he said with a grin. He had a knockout smile that made millions of the girls weak in the knees.  We sat down at the table, sitting across from one another.

After a couple minutes of no one talking that would be considered an awkward silence if it wasn’t for the sound of our chewing which, to me, was worse than nails on a chalkboard, I got up and went to the stereo which held my Ipod in its dock. I put on The 1975 and sat back down.

“I hope you don’t mind the music, I just couldn’t take the sound of the noodles being digested” I said with a smirk.

“ Nah, I don’t mind” he replied. After another minute of lack of talk, he spoke again. “I’m sorry if this is awkward, I haven’t been on a lot of dates recently. In fact, I haven’t been on any dates recently. It’s really hard to find time, ya know?” He said, apologetically.

“It’s totally fine. I’m in the same boat as you, considering the whole military thing.” I reassured him.

After another half hour of eating and small talk, Brian decided to leave so that he could get some rest for the bands show tomorrow. I bid him farewell and told him to keep in touch. I went to bed that night wondering if I would ever hear from him again.
