hybrid love

the first real battle

troops from both sides where marching towards the mountain. Today was going to be the first real battle. They met at the top. Quickflash and Ice fire shouting insults at each other. A young girl lay resting under the rocks, fast asleep. The sounds of War woke her. She stepped out into the light. She normally only came out at night. Her name was forgotten by all except her, so everyone just called her ninny. She gasped at the large battle surrounding her. 

"Stop! Please! We do not need another war!" Ninny screamed. A rainwing dove at her and pushed her away from the battle before a sandwing barb went straight through his heart. A Seawing dove for cover and she dove after him. 

"Why is this happening? Why?" She asked him her face a mess of blood and tears. 

"The two commanders, Quickflash and Icefire, used to be brothers. But then they fell in love with the same girl. They found out they where royal and declared war on each other. They want to battle to the death over sandstorm." Said the seawing gesturing at a sandwing on the other side of the battle, leaning up against the rocky cliffs of the mountain. He flew back to battle, punching and stabbing because his life depended on it. Ninny stared over the rocks and sandstorm. She was really pretty, but not pretty enough to start a war over. As she was watching, she looked left and right... and slipped into a cave that Ninny hadn't noticed before. 

"Hmm... Where is she going?" Ninny thought flying over the battle to follow her. She walked down the narrow cave, what she hoped was water, dripping down onto her head from the ceiling. There was a light up ahead. Ninny stood on her tippy toes and looked around the corner. There was a lamp sitting on the floor, and a nightwing sitting next to a laughing Sandstorm. As she was watching, they kissed. Ninny's eyes went wide. If both quickflash and icefire were fighting over her, then she was cheating on both of them. She ran for the exit, sandstorms voice in her head saying "Why would they ever believe you? Your just a scrawny little nightwing!" She stepped out of the cave, only to almost get steamrolled by a seawing on fire. She looked around the battle. Right in the smack dab middle, Were two very important looking hybrid twins, trying their hardest to kill each other.  She flew towards them. 

"Stop it! Stop it!" She screamed at them. They only fought each other harder. She reached out and pinched their ears. they fell to there knees going "Ow ow ow.". Good thing she was cursed with the pinch of death. 

"Listen up you two." She said to them. "I am going to show you something that is going to change the fate of this war as we know it. But you can't fight each other!"

"I'll never stop fighting!" Shouted Qickflash. She squeezed his ear harder. He winced. 

"Okay okay. We won't fight just stop pinching our ears!" He said. She let go. 

"Follow me, and be quite!" She said and flew towards the cave. She could here their wing beats behind her. 

After a long walk down the cave, you could see the light again. She gestured for them to peak around the corner. They rolled there eyes but did it anyways. She saw them go stiff.  Apparently the nightwing was getting really cuddly with their girl. Icefire jumped out. 

"SANDSTORM!" He shouted and she quick pushed the nightwing on top of her off and got off her back. 

"Yes?" She asked, acting completely Innocent. He walked up, Quickflash following him. 

"We started a war over you and you cheat?" Asked Quickflash. 

"What? How dare you! I would never cheat!" She said. Icefire looked in a corner. There where two eggs. One he had recognized as his own the other quickflash recognized as his. He reached for them. 

"Hey! Don't touch my eggs!" Said the nightwing in a deep voice. Everyone in the room went red. 

"Those are his eggs?" asked Qickflash pointing to them. "You had dragonets with him?!"

"Um...." Said Sandstorm her eyes dashing around the room. before anyone could do anything, she pushed past the twins, grabbed the harness the eggs where in, took the nightwings hand and took flight down the tunnel. The twins sped after her with Ninny on their heels. When they got to the opening she was far in the distance, flying away and they knew they couldn't catch her. 

"Attention!" The twins shouted and everyone stopped and looked. 

"Now that we have your attention, we want all of you to go home. The war is over." All of the dragons whispered to each other wondering if it was really true. Then everyone flew home, happy to have peace. The Twins quick thanked Ninny before they went home too. And Ninny settled back down to continue her 3,000 year nap. Happy, no one knew that her real name was Clearsight.
