Mika is shaken awake from her slumber.

"Ye! Ye! Gising na!"

She doesn't need to open her eyes to know who the voice belongs to. She groans but gets up anyway. Ara is excitedly putting her shoes on.

"What time is it?" She asks as she drinks milk straight from the pack. "It's like 1." Ara says with a shrug.

Mika groans and rests her head on the cupboard. She still needs sleep. "Ye, ano ba yan?" Ara says as she drags Mika by the collar to the closet "Magbihis ka na nga! Ang bagal mong kumilos eh."

A small smile forms on Mika's lips as she ties the laces on her boots. Ara has always been like this whenever they received a mission. Excited. Hyper. Full of adrenaline. Let's just say, between the two of them, Mika was the calm, collected one.

She makes her way out of the room and sees Ara with her arms crossed, leaning on the wall in the hallway.

"Ready?" She asks Ara as she holds out her enclosed fist.

"Ready." Ara says with a smirk, bumping her fist into Mika's.

A smirk forms on Mika's own lips as they make their way to The Brig.

A little history on them both: Mika Reyes and Victonara 'Ara' Galang, childhood friends since the age of 6. They were drafted together into the Jaeger program at the age of 18 and became two of the best Jaeger pilots in the world, succesfully defending the Manila Bay area from Kaiju attacks for 3 years. They pilot the A-38 class Jaeger 'Queen Archer' under the supervision of Marshall Ramil De Jesus.

There is an unspoken bond between the two friends. Mika knows she loves Ara. More than she could love any other friend.

Does Ara know that? Mika isn't so sure. Ara's been in Mika's head and vice versa for three years. They can literally read each other's minds when they're in the Jaeger. How could Ara not know?

Manhid ba siya or torpe? She isn't so sure about that either. Mika is quiet as she is suited up and Ara notices is it.

"Oh Ye, bakit nakakunot yung noo mo?"

"Hmm? Ay, nag-iisip lang ako." Mika says dismissively.

"Natakot ka ba? Sus, Ara Galang 'tong kasama mo, Ye. Hindi ka dapat matakot." Ara says with a teasing voice.

Mika laughs as she playfully hits Ara's nape. "Alam mo, Daks, bagay ka diyan sa labas." She says. "Bakit?" Ara asks "Kasi hot ako?"

"Oo. Napaka hot mo, kaya nga na in love ako sa 'yo eh." Mika almost says, but she doesn't.

"Hindi." She says.

"Eh bakit?" Ara asks as the last of their gear is placed on them.

"Kasi mahangin ka." Mika says. Ara rolls her eyes "Mahal mo pa rin ako." She says. Mika eyes soften as she gazes at Ara. "Sobra." She says in a whisper.

"Alright ladies, you're good to go."

"Yes!" Ara says as she puts an arm around Mika's shoulders "Let's rock and roll, Reyes!"
