"Hey baby, don't cry, it's not scary Augs. It's just lightning, it's really beautiful see?"
"It's too loud mama, i don't like it."
"It's okay August, lightning is supposed to happen, it's the universe telling somebody something important."
"Like what mama?"
"Like someone is lost and need to be found, or someone needed a sign, or someone they love is trying to talk to them."
"Is it Daddy?"
"Im sure it is daddy."

August was up before the alarm went off that morning, it had been 3 weeks since he had started school, and his priorities had been sorted. His dorm was well furnished, and he had gotten a few interviews with some stores coming up, with a little help from the friends he had made in the past few weeks.
So far he spent his lunches with Baxter and his group and had quickly learned the names of the rest of the table, and had also formed a friendship with his next door dorm neighbor.
Her name was Ariel Pennington, she had short blonde hair, green eyes, and glasses. She was pretty quiet at first, but she quickly warmed up to August and they totally hit it off. She was a total dork but in a good way, she loved to draw, read, cosplay, all that nerdy stuff that she could somehow pull off. She was very smart and sweet and very pretty. August liked her a lot, they were good friends.
Occasionally he would see Evan, but they had not talked since August's first day besides PE strategies. He also had made friends from other groups and such, but that's not important right now.
After August got ready, he headed out on time with an umbrella in hand. He walked out into the foggy, but not rainy, morning. The cool air kissed his face and he had really grown quite fond of the colder weather. It was invigorating and helped him wake up in the morning. August shoved his hands in the wool lined jacket from the thrift store and walked at a moderate pace, enjoying the birds singing showing the first signs of spring. He had noticed how quiet it was, only a few cars passing by and nobody walking on his path, he liked that. He sighed contently and plugged his earphones in, pressing play on his music. You really know make to me cry when you give me those ocean eyes...

School ended rather quickly, he presented a project in English on a topic of choice, which he chose the topic of the importance of space exploration. He got 100%. Sometimes he questioned if he'd ever give up being such a nerd, maybe he needed to get out more. He shuffled out of the school and spotted Baxter a little bit ahead of him."Bax! Hey man wait up!"
"Auggie! Get over here!" Bax smiled happily.
He jogged up to the redhead, smiling back. When he caught up to him, Baxter put a hand on August's shoulder.
"Ok dude, listen, you know that super hot girl Brenna from our chemistry class?"
August nodded a little confused,
"So get this, she's having a party in her dorm tonight, they're trying to keep it on the down low and shit but you should totally come with me. It'll be awesome."August pursed his lips and thought about the things he needed to do, but Bax snapped loudly in front of his face, gaining his attention back.
"C'mon Augs, you can't bail on me for homework, do you ever want to have a girlfriend?"
"Shut up asshole... i'll go with you." August punched Baxter's shoulder playfully, grinning like an idiot. They walked back to the dorms together, chatting about possible crazy scenarios that could easily happen at the party.
